An acquaintance of mine, very well known in domaining circles recently put me onto an e-book offered by Mickie McKenzie of the Domain Sales Machine - http://www.DomainSalesMachine.com

Here is my honest review of this product:

The Domain Sales Machine e-course costs $197

    Is this cost worth it?

In my considered opinion, no it is not.

In a nutshell, it appears to me to be a load of codswallop, not really 'worth the paper it is written on'.

Straightaway you'll receive a bootstrap video and a tutorial in a pdf format. Whilst there are some decent tips in the initial pdf document, much of what is written within this is fairly obvious very basic stuff that most new domainers would be putting into practice off their own bat anyway.

The bootstrap video is next to useless and spends an inordinate amount of time explaining how to open up a Yahoo email account, which he seems to spend at least 15 minutes explaining the process in the most droll and slow language possible. Most people I am sure could explain this via a video tutorial in about 1 minute maximum. Other points are covered, but the tutorial is so slow that it will have you yawning, falling fast asleep long before you reach the end.

In week one you will receive Part One of the DomainSalesMachine e-course.

It is my opinion, that Part One of any e-book and/or e-course, especially after spending out almost $200 you really do want to give your new clients the best impression possible, excellent meaty details, information that is really going to enable your new clients and customers to sit up and take notice, that you really mean business and that the tutorial being offered is really going to help and assist your end audience.

Did Part One of the DomainSalesMachine impress me? How would I rate it on a scale of 0-10?

To be absolutely honest, I would be very hard pushed to even give it a 1 out of 10, that I sincerely believe is being rather generous.

You will be sent a list of the major domain forums online (links), with a very few words upon why the author believes each forum is good, from his point of view. If you type in Domain Name Forum into any major search engine, you will find that you will get on the results page, exactly the same forums and information. Any established domainer will of course already be aware of all of the major domain forums anyway.

Next you'll receive a list of domainers blog addresses (links), again this is nothing to shout about, this info is available completely free online.

Next you'll receive a list of domain names, generally generic two word .com's that the author is selling from $99 or so to $400 or so on each package, and that's it, that is your first installment, part one of the DomainSalesMachine e-course.

It gives you very little faith indeed that any forthcoming parts are going to get any better, such is the lack of quality presented in this part one. There was absolutely nothing of any value that I could see for anyone at all, in this first installment, it was in a nutshell, mindblowingly hopeless. I am absolutely flabberghasted that anyone could think to themselves that there was some inherent value in the information presented, that other domainers could use to their financial benefit.

Disgusted, I immediately requested a full refund, as the author was offering one of those ironclad guarantee's, 'If not entirely satisfied, for whatever reason, no quibbles, request a refund and you'll get it straightaway, no fuss', kind of things. Normally, this style of American sales pitch makes me run completely the other way, however, this did come to me, on the back of personally, some very well known professional domainers, otherwise I would never have bought into it.

Upon requesting a full refund of my monies paid, I was asked to wait until week 4 as the e-course only really started to get into the nitty gritty at that stage.

My reply was to send to me the next 3 installments instantly, to evaluate whether or not the quality would improve without any further faffing around, if he was not happy to do so, I wanted an immediate and total refund.

The author refused to send to me the next 3 installments to evaluate as requested, which to me spoke volumes concerning his own faith in his own product to impress.

Give him his due, he did initiate a full refund of the money paid a few hours later, which I have received.

Would it have been worth waiting until week 4? Going on the basis of that which was received in week 1, I very much highly doubt it.

To say it was at a kindergarten level is indeed being extremely generous in my considered opinion and yes, I have played in my mind, the wisdom or not as the case may be of posting up this review, but really do feel that this is a bit of a rip off and therefore I have to warn others to stay away from this product, this so called e-course.

You may have altogether a different perspective if you have bought into this 'product'. If you have either a positive or a negative experience of the DomainSalesMachine.com e-course, I'd certainly more than welcome reading your replies below.

    Many thanks!
