New Google Experiment With SERP's !!

Discussion in 'Google' started by Spider Man, Oct 7, 2008.

Looks like Google is testing Thumbnails in SERP’s, as shown in the below image.

Looks like Google is working hard towards providing users with the quality SERP’s …Looks like a nice idea about providing thumbnails with SERP’s.

However, Like there previous experiments only few users are available to see this new feature.

Please Note: Google already shows thumbnails in SERP’s .. but the feature is limited and is not available with all SERP's.

Humm interesting. There were already many plugins for firefox and userscripts that would do this trick.

Google randomly chooses some small percentage of users and test them and if testing goes ok, they move them into the optional experimental area where any user can add them !!

    I love Googling !! ;)

BTW: Google keeps on testing some new stuff's like this .. you can check this Digg Like Feature they tested last month, http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/07/14/google-bucket-testing-new-digg-like-search-interface/

What Google Experiment in SERP ??

Yes Its Not Good Idea, Because it will make the search result slower to load.

it is only Firefox GP (Google Preview Option) Plugin.

There is Nothing Google Testing, It can be Done By Firefox Plugin.

we can see all the Previews in Google Search, i've Disabled this plugin, There is no benefits to add this plugin.

I think the idea was came from Cuil and I think it is better for searches so you have thumbnail preview what might the site looks like. Site design is taking place now...

Doesnt show up thumbs here.. But it sounds like a very good idea and makes the SERPs more interesting. They should provide a check box tho to let people disable the feature.

I tried to Google something but why does it didn't look like the one you posted?...
But I think the simpler search is much better, there is no need for thumbnails if there are add-ons which do just like that(show the thumbnails of the site for preview)...

Cuil is too slow for me, I also don't feel the need to see an image next to the results, a thumbnail of a page, so small I can't read it anyway, or a random image would not help my searches. I hope they keep it quick and simple personally

I would prefer not to have thumbnails for it to slow down page loading. I mean we would still visit the page anyway.
