domain owner details incorrect in whois records. want to change the details

I registered a domain name this month and it has been live now with the help of my friend. My friend send the request to his friend and now there seems some problem. My friend’s friend used his contact name and address details to register the domain name.

Now the domain name is not in my name’s but my friend’s name. And the whois record proves it. Also in whois records, the Lock status is given as
Lock Status: clientTransferProhibited

What this lock status mean? And I have also heard about EPP, whats that, I have not received anything. My friend mailed me only the user id and password.

Now I want the domain name and contact address in my name. what should I do?

Since you have the username and password you just have to login to the registrar's control panel and change the contact information ... then change the password. The WHOIS should tell you who the registrar is.

My registrar is Directi Internet Solutions Pvt. Ltd. dba PublicDomainRegistry.com
Is ther a url for the login.

There are must "Change contact information" or something like that option in the control panel

 

Like Siberforum says, there is an ption to change the account info, just search it!

 

There is a updae contact info link, when i click on the link only the email field is coming up to edit and nothing else. Iam using cpanel.

 

indianeyes..... you cant manage the domain from your cpanel account.... Cpanel is for managing your hosting.

as guys said, cPanel is used to manage your hosting account and you can't change domain who is information from cpanel
