I am just away to start a blog and mjust wondered what you all thought was best wordpress.com or blogger. They are both free but I am not really sure which is better than the other, if there is a big difference?

    Which one do you prefer?

    Welcome on DP Jacqui!

But you really could use the "search" tool a little bit

This issue has been discussed many times here

Nice post, thanks. I just have one question. I have had a look at this post and others now and was wondering when it comes to the plug-ins etc on wordpress is this only for wordpress.org or wordpress.com also. (I think one is free and one is not, or I may be mistaken)

    Thanks
    Jacqui

wordpress.com is a free blogging platform like blogger

wordpress.org is the ressource center for wordpress - the place you have to use when you want to set up a wordpress blog with your own domain name on your servers

Everything is free with wordpress except some plugins and some premium themes

Right ok thanks for the info. I think I prefer wordpress for now, although I may venture to blogger for another blog, will just see how this one goes first. Wordpress seems to be the more popular with the members in here anyway.

    Thanks again

wordpress has more features and better supporting platform, in blogspot u will have categories under labels but in wp u can create categories / subcat in a better way.

Plugins and themes customization will aslo help u.

    well SEO optimized CMS.

Easy to use, if i will u i will go for wp

if your new to the scene try blogger first to get an idea of websites / design.. free also..

wordpress you will need to pay hosting hosting & a domain.

WordPress. However, you would be much better off to register your own domain and host your own blog instead of using WordPress.com.
