Somali Pirates: I'm tired of this news

US and other countries with navy visible in the are are useless... You can hear news everyday with title "US Navy chases Somali pirates", "warships chases Somali pirates", etc, but no one yet captured recently...

These pirates should have been bombarded, pulverized, and should be erased from gulf of Aden and Indian ocean with no mercy... Military is taking non action...

And that Faina crew is useless too... How come a ship full high power arms was hijacked with 23 crew?... The world is frustrating....

Trust me. If the U.S. or any other navy gets within reach of any pirates, they will be dead in the water. There will be no capture news to speak of. Capture for what ?
There are no Nato, or Geneva Convention rules in International waters.

    1. The US's only interest is to make sure the cargo does not fall into the wrong hands. The US has no reason to sink this ship.

    2. You talk about the crew being useless - the weapons were cargo. Do you think they had tanks roaming the deck?

Considering the nature of cargo, a military assistance was needed... They missed to consider the pirates at Somalia...

The US military is making sure the pirates don't unload the cargo anywhere. What else do they need to do. We are not in the business of sinking ships for no reason. Our only interest is making sure the cargo does not fall into the wrong hands. The tanks are not much of a threat to anyone while they remain as cargo on the ship. The owners can pay the ransom or not, it is not a US issue.

The US is not charged with protecting every other countries ships at sea. If this was a US ship, the US would be more involved. As it stands now, we are just protecting our interests by watching the ship - and remaining close enough to take appropriate action if they try to unload the weapons.
