All of my ads are showing less impressions since the dramatic weight drop.

I have no idea why the weight has dropped so badly, or if coop has a problem, but there really is no point in worry about it. Could be my drop in impressions is related to the sites that have dropped from the coop.

I am still getting benefit from the coop though, only not as much. Still happy to be getting something out of a free tool.

People who are saying their impressions dropped consistent with their weight drop, there is a 30 day lag for your impressions so a direct comparison is not available (yet). I am starting to get the full benefit of my all time high weight at the end of April. It wont be for another 3 weeks that I will see how this drop has/hasn't affected me.

All I care about is how many times my ads are being shown. I don't care if my weight is 50k or .000054 as long as I get the benefits. And the benefits can't be properly judged for another couple of weeks.

Well, the amount my ads are being shown has dropped and dropped. A sharp downward spike since the end of April.

I have been wanting to see how my rankings and search engine traffic do without coop anyway, so I am going to disable it and see what the affect is, while whatever is messed up fixes itself.

Care to make your point? The API is not showing the pages of a site: command, so the weight hasn't increased. What does that have to do with SERPs or rankings or using the coop as a SEO tool?

Hi y'all. Nice to see the productive threads at DP :).

I am curious about what folks think? Is it possible Google is intentionally playing with the mechanisms that networks like DP and even LV uses to award 'your value' weight or vaultage. Google cache and site command appears very unstable, causing major flutuations in these systems. The obvious outcome would be many network users *shivering* in their boots. This would ultimately lead to fear, fear= close your account. If you close your account you then show Google that you were part of a network or a link scheme by suddenly dropping massive ibls? My feeling around this is it is an attempt to shakes the leaves off the tree .

Does Google play games with the truth??? Although this link does talk about link networks it is pretty convincing proof that they do manipulate the truth.

Google may well be doing this to mess up the coop and link vault.

They won't penalise you for a drop in links because all your links from the coop can easily be spotted by looking for the ads.digitalpoint.com gif next to them.

I wanted to stay with coop but had to leave today after my weight went from 3500 to 200. Will keep you posted on whether link vault gives better results........

Basically if G wanted to hammer the coop all they would have to do is setup the coop on a site and monitor the .txt file for sites making their way into the txt file.... too easy ;)

I have suffered the same fate too...
But the coop is an awesome tool. I will be sticking it out.

I am concerned about the jumps in weight though. What about the possibility of a buffering effect that ramps up/down the weight pointed at a site?

But then again that might be a bit too complicated to be feasible

livingearth ... cap out your weight at a fix amount ... then throttle the cap weight up little by little ... over a period of a few months.

Wouldn't it be something to have a search engine that weighted the big three in proportion to their market share, and then displayed its own results! Of course, it would probably be a violation of all three's TOS. So as soon as we can get Google, Yahoo, and MSN at one big table, we should be good to go. Until then, dream on.
