When I create a new site. I always add a Search area to earn from Adsense Search. How about you?

I want to know your idea about where is the best position to put it?

I use it but I regularly get 0 queries from it. I'm thinking of adding it to some more of my pages but I don't want to pollute my site with searches all over the place.

I use it, I put it at the bottom of the page so it is the least intrusive. That way, too, if a person gets to the bottom of the page and _hasn't_ found what he's looking for, he's more apt to use the search function. If you just put it at the top and he doesn't find what he wants, he may back-arrow out rather than scroll back up to the top to search.

My eCPM is much higher on search than on ad-units (though in the last few days the ad-units have closed the gap somewhat) but the number of searches vs clicks is a LOT less. It's a good supplement to the ad-units, but you usually don't want to replace the ad-units with the search box.

If you don't have your own search, AdSense for search is a good tool to give to your users to do searches on your site and it should be on the top of the fold only. It is not a good money maker.

I am still experimenting on it.
Overall so far, the CPC and CPM is higher compared to my average of other channels. Impression is not so high though (i.e., people who choose to search)

Usually it doesn't contribute much to the earning but anyway, nothing wrong to just put it there. Just place it somewhere it is visible. Top area should do.

Doesn't hurt much, as long as it integrates well with your site. After all, a monthly income of $10+ from Adsense searches in addition to the main Adsense income is still good right?

I get some money from it, better than nothing. If it wouldn't hurt, put it there.

It can also be put at more than one place if it wouldn't do any harm for more exposure.

I'm about to ad AdSense for search, probably near the bottom like one person suggested. Do you guys recommend I open a frame within my existing site, or open the search results in an entirely new page?

And if you DO recommend I put the results in a frame within my site, how can I test that the results are popping up in the correct place? Obviously I can't do it through clicking.

    Thanks for the help.

You ARE allowed to search your own search box from what I understand. You just don't want to click any paid links that are brought up in the results!
