    Hi again

Let's just say my sites pull in over 5 figures a month consistently and well over 6 figures annually. There's still room for much improvement (I have some nice Joint Ventures lined up that will bring in a good return) and I just launched a new site a couple of days back which pulled in over $2k in the first day with only promotion to my list - and it WASN'T in a market that would predominantly interest my list - it's more a stock market related product.

I am also going to be launching an NZ based site very soon but at the moment it is still in development. It is designed to reduce crime in the community. :)

I don't say this to boast either... more to show that it IS possible for us Kiwi's to compete with the U.S guys...

Having said this, I've been marketing online since 2001 so I have a bit of experience behind me.

I live in Whitby which is north of Wellington by about 30 mins.

Yeah, I thought I would try to be helpful, with the post count and all.

I know where Whitby is - I lived in Tawa for a while (wish I was still there, we might have been able to meet up and you could have taught me a thing or two)

You're obviously doing quite well then. I will be there one day hopefully.

How old are you? I'm really only interested because I am nosy. I'm 19.

I was going to guess 32 - pretty close

What did you do before you got into IM? do you do your own coding or hire people to do that for you? I personally have to pay people to do it because I am not overly clued up on the coding.

P.S you only need 2 more posts

I have been in management positions in various companies and banks - but I like the internet lifestyle.

I do a lot of stuff myself - with regards to website setup and stuff but programming I leave to the experts. I'm certainly no programmer but I can very easily install basic scripts etc... but as for creating them, that's where I draw the line. Leave that to the experts!

BTW - I used to live in Tawa too for many years. It's a small world that's for sure.

Without a doubt - what made you move to Whitby? It's a bit flasher isn't it?

I dabble in a bit of website design as well (well kinda) just do it for some small businesses in the area to raise some capital until my real estate website gets off the ground.

I hire a programmer for the programming though

It's pretty good in Whitby... we like it. Close to schools for my daughter when she goes in about a year's time. :)

Programming can be a nightmare at times, I have had some good and bad projects when programmers are involved but if you get the right one, they're definitely worth holding on to!

I agree. I use someone who is quite a bit cheaper than most (budgetary constraints) and you can really tell; not because he can't do the work, but just because his quality control isn't overly brilliant.

However in saying that I really enjoy working with him because he will keep at it until it is exactly how I want it.

Are there many tax benefits to dealing mainly overseas?

I'm no tax specialist as I leave that to my accountant however you don't have to pay / charge GST to overseas customers assuming they are using the service outside NZ.

There are complications however dealing in foreign (US) currency which makes things a bit tricky.

Yeah I can imagine - the fluxuations in the exchange rate must make it hard to predict your income. Have you noticed a drop in sales recently? (with the American Financial Crisis) there has been quite a bit of talk about Affiliate Sales dropping off in the States Recently

Because I primarily run membership sites which take a monthly fee I haven't noticed any major changes. Most of our members keep paying month after month - primarily because of the value they get from their membership. In fact some have even said that ours would be the LAST membership they ever cancelled... lol... and also with the NZD weakening against the USD recently that has seen a BIG lift in income with no additional work. There was a period for about the past 9 months where the exchange rate was terrible but now it is going in my favour. I remember when we started out it was 48 cents against the USD now it's more like 66 or so.

As for affiliate sales... I do a fair bit of affiliate marketing and it has been pretty steady still. I still think people are looking for a "quick fix" even (maybe even ESPECIALLY) in times of financial hardship. A lot of people aren't prepared to put in the effort to learn all that is needed to be successful online.

Thats a very fair point and you notice it a lot on here with threads such as "whats the quickest way to make $10,000" etc. etc.

This Greed is the main reason people were hit so hard when all the finance companies crashed as well (IMO)

So, you can post your sites now (I'm interested to see what they are)

lol... I thought you would have guessed by now from my earlier post about the google search ;-)

http://www.MyMarketingGoldmine.com is my main one but if you do a google search for "Dave Isaacs and Aaron Leighton" you'll see many of our others.

Another of my bigger ones is http://www.Learn-The-Basics.com - that's got over 12,000 members.

I still can't actually post "clickable" links because this system apparently doesn't update users until 25 minutes past the hour each hour.
