A call from an old friend.

Its often nice to get a call or visit from an old friend. By old friend I mean one of those old friends that was a GOOD friend, WAY back when. I mean, not necessarily best friends but way up in that camp.

Years go by, you lose touch... And then one day, out of the blue they just show up. Reminisce for a while, talk about old times and whats new in your life now.

Then just as the conversation is coming to an end, they do it. They tell you how their wife is selling Aflac on the side and would it be ok if she came calling on you and your business.

    WTF...???

True story. Shit like that is so lame. Opinions, thoughts? Thanks.

Man, my opinion is that he should've talked directly about what he needs and then you would still call him a good friend. In your case, I think he just took advantage. What did u say about the product?

My wife has that crap through work... I'm not a big fan of it. I think of it and they people who sell it as those Amway and Excel people... Its another pyramid. I think I'd be better off having Rusty Jones rust proof my carbon fiber bike.

Yeah, I thought it was kinda lame.

Happens all the time when your friends/family realize what you are doing.

The easiest deterrent is to just quote them $5,000 to setup a website, which has to be paid in cash up front with them signing a document stating this is just for the creation of their site, not marketing it.

It works wonders after a while :)

Nah, its like a supplemental insurer that sells insurance "in addition" to what you already have, kinda like selling you that additional expensive warranty package at Best Buy on top of the manufacturers warranty.

Good way to make the people selling the warranty some extra corn!

Some so called friends turn out to be be the Living Breathing Flesh of Satan. Once in high school, I made a comment on two white girls dancing ballet. They looked like angels as they glided across the floor. An East Indian girl overheard and boy was she pissed. I heard her tell the other, I HATE that girl (meaning me). So, I was hated for making a wonderful comment. In the next two years, I joined classes with her and made her my friend boy what a foolish thing to do. she started backstabbing me and bad mouthing me. I slowly kept to myself and away from her. In return, she yelled at me, I HATE YOU! She ended up under a truck once and almost died. Today, after 18 years, she is still spewing hatred across the internet.

It is good to meet old friends as long as they are not Satan. They will never change if they are evil.

Yeah, never mention race around anyone... Too many people are too insecure about that subject and go nuts.

    Totally destroys the visit.

Seems like nearly every old friend that ever looked me up after years, after the initial catchup....the conversation was very awkward, it becomes very apparent that much has changed for both, and there's not much in common anymore.
