Design + Coding - E-Magazine?

    Hey,
I'm in need of a bit of help. I'm wanting to make an E-Magazine, however, would this be possible to create a basic outline layout for it that is coded in a magazine format (turning the pages over with an arrow or something) and the content would be easy to change etc. A front cover would be needed too. I'm after a basic layout that is coded that I can easily edit and insert images and text into and then upload to a website.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to create this and a quote would be nice too!

might be better off looking into flash. you might be able to achieve a nice effect using php and some ajax too, but, either way, you are not looking at anything that is going to be cheap to make. if you have a budget in mind, might be able to help you a little more.

If you do go the route of using Flash I'd highly advise that you make a "low fi" version for users who don't have it enabled (or want it installed); plus you'd be wanting to make sure that alternative browsers (text readers) can read it...

There are a lot of services out there, already set up with the flip-page feature, so that all you have to do is save your pages as pdf files and then upload them.

Try searching for "page flip" and you'll see a lot of options.

Also, someone on the Warrior Forum offers some pre-made magazine page templates. She uses the name "magchick" over there so her posts would be easy to find if you searched. I'm not her, but I've bought some of her WSOs and it's good stuff.

Her templates could be used to make your pages, then save them in pdf, and then upload to one of the many page flip online sites (or buy a script and use it).

As an example of the flip page sites where you upload your pdf pages, there's a local ad flyer that uses one at BlueToad.com (Not an affiliate link.) It's pretty interesting to take a look and see the possibilities, and it looks like they make it pretty easy to upload your work.

Your pages can even be clickable within the flip pages, which is very cool. You could include links to advertisers' sites, your affiliate ID to various products and services, etc.

Sounds like a flash site would be a good way to go for you buddy. Will look very stylish and more 'magazine like' if one in the right way. Would certainly look into that.

Just wondering if the original poster had any luck and might possibly have a digital magazine completed by now.

I've seent this done in flash before. If I'm not wrong it's called flash flip book.
The guys at Flash Mint Design did some templates based on this idea. But as much as I like the look of such a template, you should consider the loading time of such a template and also how SEO friendly is (NOT) a site build entirely on flash.
