I saw a small part of the CS4 launch even earlier this week on the adobe site. Until then I didn't know to expect a CS4 at all.

How many of you guys will be getting it once it is realease, and does anyone know a release date?

because many people with brains who do alot of work with websites aren't committed to doing everything by hand coding and linux has no comparable program to dreamweaver. Simple.

CS4 is looking good. More than likely I will be getting it.

I will also be getting the CS4 -- Dreamweaver is a premier choice for our web site design services, even though we use Dreamweaver 8 atm

Despite the major advantage over hand coding (the GUI part) what else does dreamweaver offer that makes it the best of the bunch. I'm sure I'm not using it to its potential.

Linux, really isn't that hard to learn...
I had a harder time learning html and css than understanding linux.

But anyways i haven't seen a reason to upgrade from dreamweaver 8. Even than i don't enjoy using dreamweaver i prefer hand coding.

If you can't or won't hand code, get someone else to do it. I can't cook, so I get a chef to make my meals. Thats the absolute worst excuse - indicative of a lazy mind - I have ever heard.

No, no linux application would ever stoop so low to be comparable to Dreamweaver. gEdit, SciTE, Eddie and even Kate are all lovely editors, with gEdit (Ubuntu's default) being my personal favourite. Notepad++ runs perfectly under Wine as well.

I do use Notepad++ as my primary means of editing, but I do have both Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 and CS4 beta installed. I figure: how can someone like me - who trashes Dreamweaver constantly, and get paid to rewrite its code - support his arguments. The one way to do that is purchase Dreamweaver and learn it back to front.

It has a decent code editor, that is all. I started using an illegal Dreamweaver, but within a couple of weeks (after meeting Deathshadow, I believe :p) I ditched it quickly, and never been happier with my skills, efficiency and bank account.

I use DW CS3 I'm considering buying the whole suite as I'm not into hand coding although I do it when I can't work out which option to choose in DW to achieve what I want.

I doubt I'll go straight for CS4 but I'll look forward to a cheaper price for the whole suite :)

I mainly use the code version myself but when it comes to updating data in a table, then I quickly flip to design view to add in some revised numbers/stats.

I know, I know, this should all be in a DB but I'm not at that stage yet ;)
