A question on database transfer

Discussion in 'Databases' started by 3DProf4online, Sep 29, 2008.

The situation is the following I used phpmyadmin 2.11.5 on localhost when creating databases, but I have phpmyadmin 2.11.6 installed on my hosting account. I am planning to upload databases to hosting really soon and I have some questions about uploading databases to hosting. Can phpmyadmin version difference cause any problems when importing databases to hosting account?

Hm, so, there are no solutions, right? I need either to rewrite this database again or just find a hosting provider with phpmyadmin 2.11.5 installed on their servers, right?

I believe PresFox meant that difference of phpmyadmin version
will not cause problems. You need not look for another hosting provider.

Ok, so as far as I see it is better just to stop filling my databases on localhost, I have tried to perform impor/export, but all my attempts failed.

As i sadi earlier that it will need an upgrade and without that it will give some errors.

Now what i suggest is that when you click over the icon import datbase then an option will blink that " Your current database is out of date, Please upgrader, click below to upgrade", just read out that and upgrade it.After its done, you will get a smile at your face...All goes perfect.

    Cheers..

Just for the record, is the problem that phpmyadmin can't / won't import or is the problem with your application not working, application being some kind of CMS or database app.
If the last is the case are you using the same version of that application on your local and hosting enviroment.

The problem is that phpmyadmin can't import databases archived on local host!
