I was bidding on this domain and it when it ended.

    It said

    Winning Bid!
    Bid automatically placed by Sedo.

What the heck does this mean? Does this mean Sedo the company place a bid on the auction?

I think what they were saying is that it was a proxy bid placed by Sedo on your behalf. For example if the starting bid was $25 and you bid $50 max, and someone came along and bid $40, Sedo would place a bid of $45 on your behalf. This is also known as a proxy bid.

Hope this helps, and feel free to check out the domains listed for sale at the site in my sig if you are looking to buy more. Thanks ;)
