Another strange question from me Why do we as humans help others? Is it because of benefits, money, or just an overall good feeling that we've done something useful with our lives for the past 5 minutes? I have not seen a selfless person in a very long time, but I have seen many selfish people. So the question is, why do the kind people do what they do and help others?
I help others because I've made a mess of my own life. There's nothing I can do that will help myself, so all I can do is put others first and try to help out those who deserve to end up somewhere better than myself.
Because sometimes they will help back, if not now, then many years later. Often it surprises me how long people remember the help you gave them. Besides you get that special, warm, fuzzy feeling. But try not to help others, expecting something in return. But you have to be careful in whom you choose to help. Don't let someone take advantage of your helpfulness.
But here's the thing: Would you help somebody who had continuously hurt you or insulted you in the past? The funny thing I've found is that people who hate you start to accept you if you begin to accept them for who they are!
I occasionally go well out of my way to help people, simply to make up for being a jerk most of the time. Karma, equaling the scales, what goes around etc...
The answer to the first part is no I wouldn't help them. I wouldn't give the time of day to someone like that. I am always polite and helpful to strangers. There is never an excuse for bad manners. What's the score with the person who "you've accepted"? Alligator
lol @ kerosene alligator I can see what you mean, but don't you think that sometimes there's a little more to the people who behave badly then you think? I knew this jerk a long time back at middle school and he and his bunch of @holes would always try to find a reason to pick a fight with me. Time went by, and something changed. Don't know what. He'd act more sensible. Maybe he felt bad about the stuff he did, maybe he grew up. I don't know. I always feel that it's better to have a friend than an enemy! Makes your life a whole lot easier!@@@
give more expect less, i believe if you help people, you will get the help in return someday when you need it
It is Not everyone speaks our language though. Anyrate, I help some people, not all. Once in a while you'll find someone who says GTFO of my way. And then they end up hurting themselves and it's like I told you I could of helped.
