Blend your ads - ads that stick out are an eyesore, and can detract from your site’s content. Less is more. Just because you are allowed to put 3 ad units and one like unit on each page doesn’t mean you should. Too many ads are distracting Keep your writing focused. Since Adsense is contextual, it needs to know what you are writing about, so it knows what ads to serve. Experiment with ad formats. Adsense has many different shapes and sizes available for your ad blocks, so test then out! Some work better than others, and each site is different. Use channels. Channels allow you to see how each individual ad unit is performing. If one is doing poorly- adjust it. Be patient. Don’t change your ads because you had a bad day or two. Give it at least a few weeks. Follow Google’s rules. Nothing will Kill your Adsense earnings quicker than being banned.
A good tips on adsense. I would say experimenting with you ads plays a key role in getting the max out of adsense. I used to change the ad formats and placings every week, until i found the right unit at right place, previously i used to hardly get any clicks but now i found it right by experimenting.
I have found out that the rounded corner ad with larger rectanlge (336 x 280) worked well and placed at right hand corner of the blog posts worked well for me. and also an image ad using the skyscrapers untis is a must, according to my experience.
Thanks for the tips. Adsense tips are available everywhere on the www but these seem to be better because these could be from your own experience and are not very lengthy
great, thanks for posting a thread like this, its a great help to newbies and for us who are not very particular with adsense program
It is also important to work on ensuring that the ads displayed on your site/blog are relevant to your niche. Use section targeting to achieve this.
Yea what lycos mentioned is important too because if your ads are the same niche your readers might check it out and find what they like.
very nice tips. I have to agree with all of these rules. great tips for the adsense newcomers. Good job.
Great tips, I am doing all of the above except for the channels part as I have more than 10 blogs to handle and so having channels will be tiresome and not practical for me.
