    Hey there..I own 1--R.com
I was wondering what is this domain classified as?
Is it 4 characters or 2 characters because of the hyphens?

    4 characters.
"Characters" is an all inclusive term usually...

Hyphen are used to break single words into parts, but in your case the two hyphen won't make much sense.

I realize it is not a "premium" domain...just wondering because there are only
10 numbers and 26 letters..wouldn't there be only (10*26) 260 similair domains. N--L? Wouldn't that make it rare?

that is what i thought when we bought m--d dot com too ;)

anything is possible, but there are no comparable dash dash sales to value these.
