My "Successful" Link Building Tip

We all know that getting relevant sites to link back is probably the hardest part of link building, getting a site which is based around your niche will greatly increase your SERP rankings.

Though many people try and contact site owners via email for link exchange, I have though found another way of doing this to a wider audience.

Once you have your niche and site ready to market you should then go out and seek forums which are related to your niche.

Now sign up to these forums and start building a relationship with these people, have your site in your signature if it's allowed. Though what we want to do next is find people on the forums that have their own web site based around the same niche.

Now you can either do one of the following two, either PM the person that's got the site and offer a link exchange or create a post requesting link exchange with people who are working in your niche.

I have managed to get many good backlinks with this method, it's easy, simple and works better then just sending the site owner an email without getting any response.

Remember to follow forum rules, some won't like it but I have yet to find one that has not allowed these kinder posts.

We are already in the midst of entering SEO 2.0 and there are still talks about submission to search engines services? Come on, search engine submission service is useless and a waste of money.

Automatic article submission service? Broadcasting service is more like it. It is a service that will allows users to submit one unique article into 100s of unique ones to different articles directory.

 

Good tips Gary. Networking will work wonders for you. I built a relationship with one webmaster who specialized in a certain product and after building several sites, I could always count on a prime link from him and vice-versa. Sure, we were in competition with each other ... but we both knew that there was enough to go around!

@Ranzuken - You get what you put into it. If automated software would get you anywhere, then everyone would be doing it. And if everyone would be doing it, then you are right back where you started ... even with everyone else. But if you want to throw your money away on buying that stuff, and it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy ... by all means, do it.

 

as Dodger said networking is the best type of link building, the more webmasters you become friends with the more links you are able to build, I have started making friends with other forums and it doesn't have to be your same niche or not

OK, guys who mentioned article submission thru softwares.
Here is what i do, I have an account with submityourarticle, I spin articles thru it and submit thru software.
So, 1 article i submit to 1000 sites.

 

Indeed, I actually know some of the guys competing for the same keyword I am competing for and we share links hehe, we actually dominate the first page of Google

 

I subscribe to the theory "you are what you link to". Since Google loves links, inbound and outbound, if you are showing consiberable amount of outbound links to sites that are relative to your own ... then it just reinforces the context of your site. Do not be afraid to link out to these sites, even from your footer site-wide. Two or three will not hurt you at all.

 

Keep in mind links exchange will do no good nowadays.

Says who? I do know that Matt Cutts has said that it is okay to do, if done in moderation.

 

I use link exchanges for traffic not really for SEO and if you get a few recips with high traffic websites it will bring more than SEO could. Also never do automated submissions, they do nothing for you if the link is not relevant and you can be penalized for auto submissions.
