    Hello, folks!
Many of you already know me. Some of you have even met me in person... So for those who do and do not know me - here is my story.

Following the NORB's 1000 DP posts thread - I have decided to do mine as well.

Almost 1 year ago (on October 15th, 2007) I discovered the notion of Internet Marketing, more precisely - Affiliate Marketing... and to be exact - Clickbank...

I just quit my job, was desperate and broke. If you want to read the full story of this period of my life - feel free to read my sales page at OneMonthAffiliate.com

So, I spent a lot of time reading forums, articles and so on - for a whole week. I didn't know anything about marketing, web design, traffic - but after 1 week of absorbing the information, I just jumped into it. I picked a high gravity product off of clickbank, made my first Squidoo lens and started writing articles.

Since English is my 5th language - it wasn't that easy at first, my vocabulary is not as great as I would want... Anyways, I really struggled with the first few articles... So I decided to do more research on the actual subject. I started looking into forums, yahoo answers - and well using common sense to understand what this market really wanted...

Once I had more details, writing articles has become easier (on that particular subject) so, 10 articles and 3 days later I had my first sale. Then 2 more... In 1 month I had over 40 live articles on Ezine. Once you type up 10 articles - the others only take 10 -15 minutes, since you are simply rewriting what you already mentioned in previous articles, simply change the main keyword phrase...

In December I launched my own CB product in IM niche (what an idiot). Since I didn't know much myself - the product's quality was very low. The sales copy sucked so much - that I made 1 sale out of 500 hops... Eventually I just gave up on that product and concentrating on being an affiliate for others.

In the end of January I jumped on Jake's product (RunYourCarWithWater) - that's when I also jumped into PPC. Well, PPC did turn in profit - but not as much as I wished, so I continued on BUMMING. Now I build a website with WEEBLY, and made it a multiple page site - so it would rank for many keyword phrases - this site still makes me money. I also started a few small campaigns (ACNE, WEIGHT LOSS...)

In February, I started a new website: Extra-Paycheck.com - a free internet marketing course, and I started building a list. The list is mostly newbies to Internet Marketing and most of them loved the free course. I would also promote a recurring membership site to these folks, many of them joined!

... In August I decided to RE-launch the OneMonthAffiliate. I improved the design a little, re-did the whole video course, wrote a better sales letter and raised the price - well, it's been selling since... I already put up a new product, the LingoBasics.com and it's launching on October 1st.

    ... To resume it all.
Almost 1 year ago I was clueless about Internet Marketing, web design, traffic, copywriting... Now I am making 5-10 times more (per month) than my old job used to pay me. Here is the difference; I work 5-10 hours a week instead of 40 and I actually enjoy what I do...

I hope this 1 year story will inspire some of you to push it a little harder. A 22 year old kid with no experience and English as 5th language could make it - so can you!

    Best of Luck,

    Alex

Nice story, I loved it. Did you mean that only bum marketing do the job well??

Well, it's hard to tell. At this moment, for me, it's Bum Marketing, SEO, my list and my own product (which is not pushed with PPC, yet). So yeah, the only expenses are domain names, hosting (100$/year - unlimited # of domains can be hosted) + Aweber ($20/month)... because even if you want to stick ONLY to bum marketing - eventually you will start investing a little here and there. I don't think many people are capable of writing articles every day for years ;)

But if you go to basics - it's all BUM... SEO is because of BUM. I promote my list using only free methods... You don't need money to start an online business.

Good story my friend, congratulations. Affiliate marketing is the way for people to go if they wan't to jump in - spend some time (and some money) and earn six figures in a few months.

I've been doing it for over two years perfecting the art, the payout is great. I'm not a big fan of clickank though ;).

Great story Alex, very inspirational for us newbie marketers that are coming close to 1 year into the game. I discovered IM in Jan 2008, and am making a decent side income off it but not enough to quit my job YET. I'm hoping to quit soon though, my dream is your reality (work 10 hours a week, make 4-5 times what you made at your job etc).

Good job man, I'm just trying to build a bunch of quality sites with Google Adsense on them right now, however, I think I'll be adding affiliate links to my site soon.
