Any of the recognizable HD brand names will be fine, it doesn't really matter what enclosure you use - as long as you can actually plug it in (firewire, usb2 etc).

I've got a cheap Philips USB2 enclosure with a 200GB Seagate in it. I've been through many difference brands of drives, and Seagates are the only drives I trust now - I've been using them for years and not once have they let me down. I've still got a few machines with 10+ year old Seagate drives clunking along.

Also make sure it's compatible with your monitor!

The main choice you need to make is 2.5" or 3.5". 3.5" are cheaper with more space but they need an external power source because they arent powered by usb like the 2.5". What brand you get isn't that important.

And don't forget to get a hdd compatible with your mouse pad, else you will have lots of problems.
