I registered a .US domain but I'm an INDIAN resident::Advice needed::

Hello, i had registered a .us domain with "name.com" just yesterday, but im afraid that im liable for suspension becuase im not a US citizen or related to US in any way. So does this boost my chances of cancelling my registered domain? I have not yet got any warnings from their side, but long into the future, would i be getting any problems ? I dont want to take chances here.

So please someone advice me what to do? Should i not vouch for this domain for long-term ownership? :(

Although the rules seem to state that some connection to the US is required, I've seen many .US domains registered to those without such a connection and never heard of any cancellations caused by this. It could happen, but it probably won't - just a risk you take.

According to Nexus terms and regulations, all registrants should either
reside in the US or have some business ties(loosely worded).

Many people get away with registering geo TLD's despite the restrictions that some carry.
One must expect that a loss of the domain is always a possibility looming in the shadows.

All it takes is the reporting of invalid info in order for your ownership to be challenged.
At that point you would have to prove that you qualify per their set guidelines.

Be careful, if someone wants the domain you are going to have problems. I have heard many stories about that. Best of the lucks.

That is a pretty good suggestion, although, while you have it listed,
someone could report the address and you would still have the same
challenge. The advantage here is that you would not be losing your developed
site... at most you would be losing the domain and whatever you paid for it.

Thank you Mega B for the positive rep. Much appreciated. :)
I would consider taking Wussadotcom's advice regarding editing your post.
I have already edited it out of my quoted text.

It must be a good one if you went for a .us. Is it? If so just sell it.

I do not think there is any risk, so do not worry. You can get .us domain without any connection with us.
You do not need to be worry.

if some one in the US wants the name all they have to do is let ICANN know it is reged out side the US, the name will be deleted, and the person or company in the US will be able to pick it up,
unless you have a business in the US thats related to the domain name, you would stand no change of keeping it,
