Osteodiet.com I moved servers about 20 days ago, my mom's rank in all of her keywords tanked, completely in some cases. All of my others sites had no problem with google during and after the move, only my mom's site. So, I think it may be something else. She's PR 3, no black hat, white hat crap going on... its just my mom and her blog. I know it can't be normal google shenanigans because she's ranking lower than her digg pages. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=medcaps+t3&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=medcaps+t See her digg article on medcaps t3? ... If you can tell me what to do on my mom's site and it works to get her back in her old spots, I'll paypal you $500.
Did anything else change other then the server move? Like folder/file placement? Which pages were ranking the highest that have had the change? PM me if you like..
PM the website address and I will take a look. Not looking for the money, because it should be something simple that was overlooked. But as was asked before, how long was the site down during the transfer?
Less than a day. Nothing. One major thing... the term "OsteoDiet" An obvious 1st result.... she just yesterday started coming on the first page again. She wasn't even in the top 200 results for "osteodiet" for over 15 days.
Well as I can see now, the website is running fine. If you have moved servers just recently it is most probably due to DNS Propagation that the website was down for a while. Can take from a few hours to 72 hours.
Please post any non-private suggestions here... whatever the solution is, it should be posted here so that others may benefit. Please do not PM me with offers. I've gotten like 20 pms from this. It needs to answer: 1. What caused my mom's serps to tank. 2. What to do to fix it.
Is this the site Osteodiet.com? I guess it needs some quality back links. Content are good. But still needs on page optimization and a little implementation of meta tags. If you want I can do all the work for your given price. Just drop me a PM.
1. you said your mom's website was down for 1 day, I think it was the reason of popularity loss. 2. I think you must wait for google bot to recognize that the website is back to normal and also you must continue link building.
if your site was out of the top 200 for 15 days it was most likely sandbox. Im sure it will return to its previous position in due course. It wont be anything to do with the moving server.
I had a similar thing happen to me when I moved my site to a different host. Even though it was only down for a day or so some of the pages were already de-indexed by Google, and for the next 2 weeks I took a huge hit in the SERPs. I just continued with link building, resubmitted my site to Google, and now about 6 weeks on my rankings have returned to normal. I'm not sure exactly what causes it, but don't worry her rankings will get better.
well what i thnk is that you might not have submitted or setthe meta tag given by google to the blog and thats why google is not crawling the website.
Don't worry that much (yet). Progress won't happen over night...give it a couple of weeks. Keep your $500 and build some quality backlinks.
Best advice so far. I agree with that. Rep given, even though it's not my thread Google probably thought your site has gone offline and delisted it temporarily. I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you. Just keep promoting the site and continue to build links.
