One site give me one full year free hosting. The administrator said that :
Send me yr domain name so that i can setup for u asap. If i send him my domain name for setup i can take some risks? To loose my domain name? Also after the one free year of hosting i can leave my domain without problems?I can transfer my domain to another host before or after "the free hosting year"?Those websites who give free hostings are a good cheap way to make some business like blogging, wordpress, affilliate marketing etc...?Thanks for the attention.

buy your domain with a domain registrar e.g godaddy, then point the domain to the hosts servers that way you can swap and change host at any time without risk of loosing your domain.

    Yes, just point the domain.
Avoid having your domain registered with your hosting service...do NOT transfer
to them. Always try to keep the two separate - domain & hosting.
Some registrars will restrict transfers by placing a registrar lock down.
Plus, if you decide to cancel hosting for any reason, some registrars will no
longer allow you access to the domain control panel.

I agree with the above. Always keep full control of your domain name. That's something you don't want to lose. There's no point in moving the domain name back and forth. And you don't really do anything to maintain it, just pay the renewal fee once a year. As far as hosting: just change the name servers to point it to whatever server you want.

yep i always keep my domain and hosting seprate.

Well having both with same registrar may seem convenient but one has to pay the price if something goes wrong.

I heard too many horror stories about hosting+domain setup for someone.

Anything can happen if one day you decide to move hosting.

The only wise thing is to point the domain. Do not register it with your hosting service. It could be a dreadful decision. keep the hosting and domain separate. :)
