The singlemost important factor is incoming links. The PR from those pages linking to you is more important than your PR. The title is important but only a fraction of the BackLinks' importance.

And is very important yuo/they get this right. And get thousands and thousands!

That 'close together' thing of yours still puzzles me. It depends on the search query and phrase.

Get a bunch of high ranking sites to point to your site...Quality and quantity is the key! I have seen new domains that are linked to from a 6 or 7 right off the bat do well in Yahoo and then Google once the site has some age on it. Always add new content and pages to your site to grow it. If you do this you will grow your traffic.

Yeah I think you should have articles/pages with specific keywords- they shouldn't be spread out your entire site.

I totally agree with you! PR does not have anything to do with Search Results. One of my sites is PR4 and is topping Google search results for a keyword that is highly competitive and has left PR6 and pr8 sites behind!
