Oh so like I can create a new account every time someone visits the page?

That's cool and everything, but it's too reliant on other people. :|

Captcha is PHP based therefore inherently vulnerable for all time. Factoid no-brainer dependant on the time frame you are willing to waste. I don’t malpractice this sort of behaviour I have enough things to play with.

Can I pane behind unix would be a crusade I would be interested in.

as I know it quite hard to do such cracking, very hard I think

there were many times the others claimed that they have bypassed myspace captchas, but there was just one time they have really cracked the captcha (them myspace upgrade it, LOL). at the other times, they just find out a bug from myspace, I think it is stupid to open such secrets. I know many myspace employ are sitting behind you, if you open it, you idea will be caught,:) then game is over, you have to restart your exploring again

Just so you know, I know this thread is probably old, However myspace didn't use "some crappy encryption" they used HMAC-SHA1 which isn't "crappy". You nor anyone else will ever crack it.

You can try finding, and running a a decryption program. If it spits out clear text then you know you have what you are looking for. From what dstevens states you should start with something that can decode HMAC-SHA1. If it is made by man then it can be cracked - I just won't offer a time-frame as to how long it would take, nor the computing power.

As to the idea about the stripper - it has been done before, with craigslist, and the reCAPTCHA. The reCAPTCHA is from an university scanning books, using OCR, and uses one of the words that the OCR program can't recognize. Since the OCR program can't recognize the word/letters, the chances are good that another implementation of an OCR program won't either - so they get humans to figure it out for them. With the reCAPTCHA program you are shown two words - one that has already been figured out, and another that hasn't, you just don't know which is which. Programs can remove the wavy line from the center of both words, even straighten the words out some, and even solve one the two words most likely. If you get one the words correct you might be granted permission to proceed to the next step.

My advise, just wait and see who comes out with what, for cracking the CAPTCHA, then use the toolbox that they will most likely sell to integrate it into a custom program.

There was a member here that was licensing a proxy script out very complex that could get past it. Infact I think I may have the script.

I'm not going to post it in public but if your a PHP guru and want to take a look PM and I'll send it you.
