I have a keyword and the domain ranks first on Google, this keyword gets lots of entries a month on Google + other related keywords long tail that the domain ranks as well. This is the domain check here: http://checkpagerank.net/index.php?name=buy-wii.net&links=1 how he can rank so well for the keyword of his domain name with so low back links? could it be the age, the keyword is his domain, or could it be very good back links from good sources?
He's around since June 2006 (good) and he has keyword in domain name (very good). Add some good "keyworded" pages and voilá. There you go
still, take a none active domain with that keyword in his domain name and don't promote it and you wont be in that first possition like he did, i think he owns a good network of sites which are powerful so maybe that is it. or maybe it's just his content. and even buy-wii.com isn't ranked
They have several PR4 backlinks, many with the anchor text 'buy wii'. There is your answer! They have good backlinks.
Its because they the tool you're using isn't working properly, look at their backlinks in Yahoo Explorer; they have over 19,000: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.c...1Wvyval8kF?p=http://buy-wii.net/&bwm=i&bwms=p
19000 links in 2 years 3 months. How is it possible to get this many backlinks? I've worked out thats an average of 22 per day every day. How is this possible?
I actually think you'll find that that is about right, keep in mind that some websites are listed more than once, for example it could have over 1000 from a forum alone (if he has his website in his signature). You don't need this many links to succeed in the SERPs, 100 Relevant PR4 links are much better than thousands of PR0, irrelevant ones. Thanks
For some of my websites which have only PR1, I rank at the top of google for highly competitive keywords. But the traffic of those sites are quite high within some thousands of the alexa rankings. So, as far as my experience goes, only the backlinks and PR are not important to google but it also depends on the traffic that the site receives and ohter things. I have personally seen many of my websites which remain at very low positions in SERP when I make the website. I mostly use fresh domains and so old domain or new domain does not affect. But when the traffic increases, the websites also improve their SERP rankings for the same keywords and with time they also achieve top google SERP rankings for particular keywords. So, traffic is one of the most important things which google checks while calculating SERP ranking. I have seen websites with good PR like PR3 or PR4 lagging behind in SERP rankings as they do not have much good traffic.
many of the backlinks could be from the same or few domains. a link in my blog's footer would give you 700+ backlinks because I have over 600 individual post pages, plus categories, plus going page by page from the home page.
