What's the main purpose though? To get high PR or to rank well? I think that each link from a domain will add to PR, but not necessarily to rankings on google. I personally think that PR is not worth that much, as I have PR 4 sites that don't rank for anything, and I have PR0 sites that make me some money every day.

very nice... and yeah, I didn't know what a backlink was. I also used the link you had at the bottom to see how many backlinks my website has.. 86 total. I am guessing that is not very good.

The methods mentioned in the article aren't bad, but yes they are a little dated. May have worked a few years ago but now you need to do a little more.

Two things that you should have mentioned are content syndication and providing templates/scripts for the public domain. If you create a great looking wordpress template, for example, it can be used on any number of blogs and the incoming links will usually be of high quality.

Is it just me or do some people put way to much effort into page rank. I would seem to think you would want to be on page 1 for your keywords. Traffic is king in my book. The only reason I say this is a friend of mine had a PR5 site that recently went down to a PR4 site. Funny thing is their traffic was actually increasing rather than decreasing. Taking that into consideration quality traffic means more to me than a page rank. Am I out there in left field on this??

Well the Page rank has a big role while you´re selling links.. It also mean if you did a good promotion for your website or not..

    Hi there,
I do agree with your points and am seeing it happening already. The best way will definitely be in-context links. But the challenge is how to get them? Its getting tougher to get quality back links nowadays.

    thanks

The problem people always look for free things.. Something that worth and will benefit won't hurt you if you pay for it some few bucks.
