Hi there, I'd love to draw again on the DP collective knowledge which I have found so useful in the past. I'd love to start getting some blog coverage on smaller, personal blogs but I'm not sure the best way to go about it. The few feelers I've sent out have been met with very cold responses about not blogging for companies. How do you get bloggers to blog about you? It's a much more complex than a good press release as media services expect PRs and bloggers generally don't. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Best Plan: Provide top quality content Okay Plan: Cause a stir... Be controversial Bad Plan: Tell bloggers they should blog about you because you think they should!
PR is a huge overlooked aspect of promoting websites. Just the other day a friend of mine got his website on a few local TV stations in a mid-major market and his traffic went up by about 85%.
I'm actually an online PR specialist, so it's something I've dealt with a lot. As a matter of fact, I did an interview on my former PR blog with Darren Rowse where we both shared our thoughts on the topic of pitching bloggers - you may want to take a look at that for some ideas, or to see what you might be doing wrong: http://nakedpr.com/2008/05/06/darren-rowse-on-targeting-and-pitching-bloggers/
Its easy dude. Many blogger especially the well known blogger have blogged about my blog. What is do is i paid them to blog about me
