$10/month, is it enough to submit to good directories?

I have only $10/month as the marketing budget for my new travel site. And I want this $10 can bring me some traffic and increase the google ranking. I checked some directories, and the price is expensive. Can this $10 submit to any good directories?

Use it to pay other not so popular but decent similar site for a banner link, maybe pay them 5$ a month or 10$.

Just submit your site to free directories.

$10 a month is something I won't even call a budget. Save your money they won't make any difference.
Submit to free general and niche directories, and try to get quality links in other ways (3 way link exchange, etc.).

If you don't want to spend too much money then you should look for free directories that have some PR and/or traffic, but have a minimal fee for a featured listing. Here's a list of low price featured listing directories that might help you.

As someone else mentioned, use the $10 to buy a couple of advertising slots on similar web sites to your own.

Directories will bring you very little direct traffic, they will help you in the search engines so I would suggest starting with the free directories until your budget is at least $50 a month before worrying about the paid directories.

Otherwise your throwing your money down the drain as it will take years for you to see a return on $10 worth of paid directory submission a month.

The only good thing about tight budget is that if you have not a load of money u usualy get the most of them because you are not spending them around without thinking but you only catch the great offers or great spots ;)

yes it is better to submit in free directories, even these free dirs submissions are not always giving the expected result, or this result comes some months later after the submission. People are spending huge amounts of money on paid dirs submissions each month, but with 10 bucks you can only submit your link to not more than 3-4 paid dirs thats why you try to find good free dirs and submit there - you may have some good results like that

Websites are a lot like any business; you get back what you put into it. $10 is a joke I hope. :D

It is better to submit to some free dirs that have a good PR and higher traffic from the search engines, you may check this with alexa or any other traffic calculator online - try to submit in the suitable categories, like the "travel" category for your site, and you will have better benefits, than to submit only 1-2 links for total price of $10

$10 a month? I can submit an article for you to 300+ directories for just $6 a month ;p

Shameless promotion I know, but my point is, $10 is still $10. You just have to figure out ways to stretch every dollar you have. Who knows, $10 may become $10,000 tomorrow? :) Wish you success in advance.
