I want to ask, what is your main source of traffic?

I have been thinking of which better ways to get traffic.. But i haven't found a good solution so i will try to ask everyone if they can share their main source of traffic.

 

According to Google analytics, majority of my traffic comes from referral sites. These sites would be social bookmarking sites, entrecard, etc. Around 38% comes from search engines.

 

Mostly Google searches - 80% I'm not big on social networking and the like...

 

90% from google, all organic traffic, not much of referral though i want to increase it

 

Google searches that lead to one of my Ezine Articles, which then results in people ending up at my site. I also get a lot of visitors through Yahoo Answers & by linking my site with my Ebay auctions.

 

My main site is 80% organic, 18% referral, 2% other.

Google, of course, is the main source!

 

Varies from site to site. Usually, most of my traffic comes from Referrals though. One source won't always be the best for every site.

 

Most of my traffic comes from the search engines with the biggest portion coming from Google.

Write (or buy) quality content and over time you will get natural backlinks and better SERPs.

 

Depends on the most recent social networking efforts.
Yahoo Answers does very well on hot topics.
Otherwise, Google is my main referrer.
Still doing horribly in Yahoo search, even while being listed in the directory, or whatever it's called there.

 

Mostly organic but I've tried social bookmarking and PPC to reasonable effect. But its costly. You got to have deep pockets. Google Adwords, Yahoo Marketing and MS AdCenter has trial credits. Use it to get the ball rolling.

Search engine(s) are main source of traffic for me. 1 or 2 sites get major portion from other sites but search engine traffic is better.

 

For most of my sites the #1 source of traffic is Google, but most of my traffic comes from referrals. Meaning I might get 100 hits a day from Google, but Referral Site #1 sends me 75 hits a day, and Referral site #2 sends me 50 hits a day.

 

Mostly Google Organic, then Google Adwords, then other sites and google properties. Traffic from Yahoo, MSN etc. is usually very tiny.
For our Chinese sites most traffic comes from Baidu.

I was just looking at my stats and my top 3 referrers from external pages are 1 - Wikipedia, 2 - Squidoo, and 3 - Ezine Articles

I have no idea how my link got put up at Wikipedia, but I noticed traffic starting to come from there last month. I dont mind if it is a no follow link I love seeing the traffic.

 

Almost 55% of my traffic is from search engines. 15% from referrel sites and the remaining is direct traffic. (according to analytics).

Google and then article marketing, the trick is you need article marketing to get google traffic
