So how does my blog looks ?

I was thinking about it for sometime and finally at the last end of august, launched http://nbridges.com/blog/

The site is of course more than a year old but guys, tell me how does the blog looks ? Does the blog look alright ? does it look fine in lower/higher resolution ? how about browser compatibility ? font size and colors, are they ok ? What else can I add ?

1. You should get a professional logo for the site.

2. You should add some graphics to the page.

3. You should add a few more colors into the color scheme of the site to make it more appealing.

 

Good and informative articles on your blog. You should explain posts with examples. I have made a comment on this post "5 Most Common SEO Mistakes"

 

Ya, I am myself not very comfortable with the theme but I felt to go with the blog rather than spending too much time in designing. Later on I will start hacking it in my free time.

Also how much you will rate the theme ? 5/10 or 7/10 or something else ?

 

6/10. For me, the right column is too wide...almost as wide as the main column. Try to decrease the widths of the right column and the two sidebars.

 

i will rate that 7/10 still good

 

I dont know weather you were supposed to overlay the top font "marketing and traffic" but I think it would look better not overlayed. Apart from that very nice blog.

 

The design looks pretty good. Somethings wrong with the logo. It's overlapping!

 

are you still seeing the overlay ? on what resolution you are viewing it ? on what browser ?

I had reduced the font size to remove it some time back...

 

I love the information on the site.

But I do agree on some of the suggestions other posters have mentioned.

 

Well WP blogs are nomally bullet proof but you have a few issues. First for me personally I would try to find a more professional type theme. The logo needs a more professional look. I am looking at it in IE7 and the rss button is cut off at the bottom. The other two buttons near it also look wierd.

 

Eric, its going to be a rocking site. I have immense knowledge from my success and failures online and I am determined to put all my effort into the site and blog. Don't forget to subscribe the feed. I am adding few more stuff into it

I had just downloaded the theme on temporary basis as first I wanted to see what exactly I want on the blog. The theme indeed sucks as its broken way too much. I was thinking of going with a custom theme much later but may be now I have to go with a new theme immediately.

I'll give a 7/10. The theme is neat and visitors will not be confused with too much information.

 

hmm, I haven't seen any logo that could tell or distinguish your blog from others... logo is important too...
I'll give 6/10 for the design(not too much graphics)
and 9/10, for the content...

I think theres enough colour on the website, it has a clean and simple design which is great. A nice wordpress theme, is this template free? If so could you provide me with the link please.

 

Hi, I have changed the theme now you think it looks OK ?

@ProdigyTX - the theme name is lynx and its created by some spanish company. the footer is encoded and the theme is broken way too much. You can pay $20 to get the footer removed but I am not sure the theme is that great (search google to know more about the theme and people's comments about it). The one thing i liked about the theme was its structure though

 

Pretty doesn't always get you the traffic. I would add some more images. This has always helped me in my articles. I have ran quite a few tests on my own and my results showed about a 5-10% increase in SE traffic over one of my articles that didn't have a image or two.

nicely presented and useful content...

 

most of what im reccomending i think it has already been said you need a logo. Images. but the overall look of the site is great. I dig the mose over effect simple but nice.
