Finally, at least one source is attempting to correct some of the dishonesty spewed forth by the desperate angry left.

So, where to begin? First, let's talk about the "Bridge to Nowhere!" There's a cruel irony here that seems poised to backlash against those attempting to use this "smear," one that I find personally rewarding!

Obama and Biden Voted for Bridge to Nowhere

Can't help but smile and chuckle on that one! Biden and Obama voted for it, Palin killed it.

Ah, but it gets even better! Apparently the Alaska Democrat Party actually credited Governor Palin for killing the Bridge To Nowhere:

Here's a few more, that Newsweek and Factcheck.org took the time to correct. I hope the moderators will allow this post to stand, and not merged into that thread, where it will be lost amongst a plethora of inaccurate information.

False Internet claims and rumors fly about McCain's running mate.

Lots more at the link with much more detail. I would be very thankful if the moderators would not merge this thread. One should exist to counter all the incorrect claims and smears made. Some willfully dishonest, others, perhaps unknowingly.

Thanks for the link, it was informative.

Since I don't normally follow Alaskan politics, it isn't anything I was aware of except for hearsay and internet ramblings.

Wade, I don't know if I'm considered part of the angry left, though I am angry with what I feel has been the most disingenuous, ruinous Presidency in American history. I've been clear about this from the start, and have said why. It doesn't bring me to lie, or to seek to smear Sarah Palin, or any candidate. In fact, as my comments on the issue of her daughter's pregnancy should show, I'm really not interested in anything but a fair fight, based on substance.

Whether I, or anyone asking the questions asked, are waging a smear campaign against the Governor, I think it's also probably important to keep in mind that in this very forum alone, Obama has been subjected to the most ridiculous campaign I've seen, anywhere; questioned, for instance, depending on who's asking, on whether he is the literal, Biblical, Antichrist, or an Al-Qaeda plant/Manchurian Candidate who will overthrow the United States on taking office. Questioning Palin on her stated position statements, v. her concrete, actual record, pales by comparison, it seems to me.

That said: My concerns are based on a feeling that McCain rushed to select her at the 11th hour out of coercion on the part of the extreme religious right wing of his own party. It is apparent to me that Lieberman was his first, and penultimate choice, until forced to the decision he took, days before the RNC.

So, c'est la vie. He chose Sarah Palin. I've expressed concerns on several things - among them, her public pronouncements on earmarks, when compared to her record. While mayor, she engaged a consulting firm to garner $27 million in federal pork for her town of 6500. That's close to $4200 per head in federal pork, so I'll start there.

Isn't that a substantive question to be transparently asked, and dealt with?

I tell you what I do tire of. Asking these questions, posting in good faith, and getting characterizations like:

In lieu of an informed answer. Beyond the gross injustice to my sense of the English language, such malarkey, well, let me say, if anything I've said - anywhere on this forum - is wrong, I am fully prepared to admit it, and glad for the education. This other crap might inform some of why I, for one, taking time, considering my points and those of others, and trying to post on fact, get tired of the propaganda and pablum in reply.

    Paul, this isn't about you.

It's important to correct the smears and dishonesty coming out of the left. I believe you would do no less for your candidate, as I would mine.

As to questions that appear to be canards...as time goes back and real facts are uncovered, I'm sure those will be responded to as well.

I try to avoid replying to questions that are posed as canards derived from kos and huffpo. I know the agenda behind these and am well aware of the hatred these two sites inspire. It makes more sense to wait until the facts are correct.

With poll bounces coming in from all over, and the volume of attack posts on Palin just this forum alone, I'm convinced the left is pretty concerned (scared, as the left might suggest of the right sometimes). The fact that Obama is sending two dozen lawyers to her home town to dig for anything they can, shows how gravely they are taking her selection.

I'm a little lost on the issue of how she wanted the funding, used her 2006 run for Governor supporting it, and when it was decided by Congress that they would not support the funding of the bridge...She killed it ?

That is not the way the residents in that area see it. If I may...a few links of my own, some of which are from the archives of the Alaskan State Government's Official Website.

What about the misquotes on who the handicap child was and the racial slurs.. People are making up an abudance of topics on her. It is not like she was raised a Muslim and her momma was a Marxist.

What about it ? I thought we were debunking issues, not throwing out new accusations.
I also thought this thread was about Sara Palin...who are you referring to ?

It would be great if we could discuss the issues about Sarah Palin without getting into "Barack Obama did this..", "Barack Obama did that.... "

Maybe we all can learn something.

As far as I know, who else voted or did not vote for this project has never been in question...What is the issue is her bold statement at the convention that she was the catalyst for shutting down such pork barrel spending, yet we have a picture of her with the residents of that community supporting the project. She is the one that made it an issue..it is her battle cry.
Can we discuss the validity of that, alone ?

That is a common tactic of both sides in every political election for local, state to national levels. Please don't make it seem as if this is a brand new tactic, first though of by Dems. You give too much credit.

This is going to be my last post for a while.

It's really a shame too. Logicflux, debunked, jkjazz, or one of the others, please quote this post and reply to it, so it's here for record. Posts seem to have a strange way of disappearing here.

In regards to what happened last week, I made a post here. Both grim and I were asked by bufalo to cut the crap and I have. Going back and looking at the posts of both, since then, it's clear to see who has, and who has not.

You'd like to think that since that time, and being given a second chance, that older posts would be off limits. That isn't the case though. This person has members on his own personal forum that are also a moderator here.

I watched in displeasure this afternoon, as they plotted together to report old posts while the other began issuing an infraction for a post that said "someone's peeking!"

There's simply no way to compete with that, when someone has a moderator on the inside, a member of his forum, who is going to do that sort of thing.

While his administrator of his forum went through many of my old posts, reporting them on behalf of grim, the other was issuing infractions on those.

So, I know what's coming and I know why it's coming. My advice...be careful in going up against this guy. Not all moderators would resort to doing this, but there is at least one here and I watched her in action today. She's a member of the other person's forum. There's simply no way to compete with that level of unevenness here.

Since it's clear what happened and why, this will be my last post. Just want to add, that since bufalo talked to us BOTH (equally, might I add) last Friday, I have not done anything else. Bufalo seems like an honest and fair moderator. The other party cannot boast of such. Instead, using members of his own personal forum, one of which is a moderator here, to take revenge upon me.

Be careful out there, guys and gals. There's a lot more politics going on, than just in this forum.

O.K., never mind...I can see that this thread will turn into another slew of random rants and personal insults and nothing will get discussed.

You guys have a good night :)

Nobody was 'plotting' together against anyone.

Who got banned and who did not, yet you have the nerve to cry?

Sorry I did not stalk you, I did not slander you, I did not lie over and over about you, I did not claim you had mental disorders after mental disorders, I did not claim I knew how to press your buttons while laughing about it to get a reaction.

I had you on ignore, yet that did not stop you from posting to try to get me to post. Over and over and over again, narcissist this, narcissist that, lying over and over again.

I simply had enough, I told you exactly what I felt about you. Guess what? I got banned, You did NOT, no matter how much shit you've done you did not get banned.

As far as 'being obvious' yes look back a bit, see how he posted about me every chance he got, followed me around while he was on ignore, called me a narcissist every chance he got, accused me of steroid use many times 'many of those have vanished'

If anything is 'one sided' and unfair it is that I got banned for finally telling you what I feel about your attempt at cyber bullying.

A conspiracy against you when I got banned and am about to again?

    Tin foil hat anyone?
