The next pr update will be 17th november 2008, ive averaged out the usuall time period, and compared with how big the last pr update was,and a lot of other factors

Good work. That should help with people who are concerned about PR. They now know what the approximate deadline is for getting new links to boost their PR.

 

Since we are throwing darts at a PR dartboard, I think it will be much sooner. The last full PR update contained old data (5 weeks old). The two little PR updates that recently happened could simply be adjustments. My guess is that a full PR update is coming very soon (2 days - 2 weeks).

There should be a pool for PR updates or allowed as a bet in Vegas. Nobody outside of Google really knows.

I have noticed some changes in the PR in google webmasters now their is a slight blue line in higher region on one of my sites so we could hope the page rank update very soon

People who wait and work to get their websites pagerank higher didn't get, while others who don't bother about it, get better pr. I just would suggest just try to forget about pagerank and go build traffic, instead of spending all time to get better pagerank and inconlusion you don't receive result you wanted.

 

PR does not help you get money unless you are selling links, traffic is what brings in the real money

And i can confirm random PR reductions happen anytime of the year , i just got awareded one, pr2 to pr0, started casually promoting the site more and getting more business on it and got a zero, strange world of the web.

 

Unless someone is working for google they cannot predict when the next pr update will happen.

 

Maybe we need to start a betting pool.

Here could be the rules:

1. Every entry costs $5.
2. Everyone picks a date from here through the end of the year. (we'll say 12-31-08, 11:59 PM EST to be clear)
3. Whatever date it lands on that person is the winner of the entire amount put into the pool.
4. If there are multiple people who have picked the same date then it will be divided evenly.
5. If it doesn't happen by 12-31-08 then we will extend the pool and everyone gets to pick a new date, but no more people will be able to buy into the pool at that time.

I am sure more rules should be created and this needs to be fine tuned, but would make for a much more interesting 'PR update' than when we normally see everyone and their mother making threads at DP about PR updates

you want to know what really gets on my nerves - when the update is very near, so many people make a post saying ohh my site had updated, nobody else on that thread has had theres updates, and it just kicks up a big fuss - when the updates happens, 90% of sites update withing 48 hours normally

nope, im sure itl be almost dead on if not dead on, ive done it before, got within a week, but this time have put a lot more factors and ideas into the calculation

Your prediction is rubbish IMO (unless you work for Google, which I don't think so). It could be anytime.

edit:btw, the next meteroite to threaten humanity will only be 361 years away, but humanity will easily have technology to detect and destory it before it hits earth
