From my personal experience this is what I have learned from the Adsense:- 1) Forget about placing Adsense Ads if you have a traffic < 1000 2) Only 336 works within the content. Place it in a DIV with flowing text around. 3) The vertical sidebar ads never gets clicked 4) Randomize the Ad position every now and then, this increases the CTR 5) Links SHOULD be blue. Forget about blending 6) Ads should have no borders. It should blend with the background 7) Never read and get disappointed with others adsense earnings. They are not true 8) Never buy Adsense secret tips books. They don't know any better than you. 9) Never keep adsense filters. They will affect the smartpricing of adsense. you earn less if you keep them. 10) Always TARGET ads using section-targetting of adsense.
I do not understand number 10) Always TARGET ads using section-targetting of adsense....can someone explain to me? Thanks
Yes I agree that, some of my experiences might be not be concurred. I expressed what I have learned form my experience over 03 years of Adsense study with 50 web portals.
4) Randomize the Ad position every now and then, this increases the CTR 5) Links SHOULD be blue. Forget about blending These two are interesting to me. I never thought of randomizing the position. So you are saying just move around the 336 ad to different places within the content? Also, are you saying make all links blue whether they are adsense ads or not? Or if you have some other color links in your site just leave them and leave the adsense links blue? thanks
Yes, your understanding is correct for number 04. Permeably blue color attracts most of new browser who are not frequent web browsing. Blue color can be avoided If the color heavily affect your website
Rats, I better pull my adsense ads - I only have 999 page visitors a day and make only $7/day... My point is if you have good niches, you can still get a lot of quality visitors who will click on your ads even if the total is way under 1000 visitors a day. The rest of the info is useful as a points to consider, but, you know, I have sites where they click the vertical ads, etc. so I don't see these as being set in stone rules of engagement.
forget about blending? i dont think so. you must blend in your ads to match with your site layout to increase your CTR. what color link you see here on DP? its not blue
I don't get the ... "Ads should be blue coloured" !! Are you saying that no other colour works as well as blue ?? What if someone has a blue page background ?? I agree with the point about not using borders, but can't understand the blue links only point. Alex
Basically people are used to links online being blue, so blue ad links encourage users to click on them. I think that does work, unless you have a well-established different color scheme. (like DP for example)
I don't think you can have a list of adsense tips that help everyone. Each list probably helps only a small fraction of people using adsense because our websites are very different from one another. As for myself, I find that the vertical ads on the left of my page have a much higher ctr than the rest of the ads. The ads that I place in my content have a much higher ctr when they're not blended. I also get way less than 1000 views per day, I don't make a ton of money but so far it's paying for the hosting. Thanks for the list though, I'll probably try outnumber 4.
#3 is not true for me. In fact I have seen on some sites 160x600 working better than other positions. It all depends on how relevant the ad is, to your content and audience. #5 again may not work for all. #8 agreed.
Good tips except for 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, and 10. Other than that, spot-on. Please show some justification for the not spot-on ones. Edited: Forgot number 7...blanket statements implying that everyone is a liar just don't quite cut it, either.
Sorry, but these tips are not helpful and may mislead people. They may be appropriate for some people but not the majority. I wouldnt take too much notice of what you have said and dont agree with most of them.
