Please someone tell me to stop.

I'm creating and stopping projects like there is no tomorrow. I start one and then I move on to something completely different without even giving it a chance? Why is this?

I invest and then give up. I've decided I'm going to just commit to doing what I did best, creating adsense related sites, website flipping and start affiliate marketing a bit more seriously.

Someone tell me, I'm not the only one that does this?

I don't get what you want us to tell you. That you don't have very much motivation and a short attention span. I don't really get the point of this thread.

I sometimes start developing a site then realize it has less potential than I imagined, so move on.

I have lots of motivation and a long attention span, I just want to create to many ideas. Just wondered if anyone else has the same thing.

I used to be like that... either force yourself to stick on one project, or have a partner who will look after a project whilst you get on with another.

Boo .... feel free to do what you are doing if you want to be a old man with a million unfinished projects. Multitasking is over-rated.

Concentrate on what you do best, while looking out for other options [Not getting into them]. Trying out new things is good, but trying out new things just for the sake of trying out new things is madness. Especially when money and time are involved.

Don't ever get too much into that which you don't feel a passion or interest for or that which you don't see yourself as doing 1 or 2 years from now.

He wants advice for a person of his tendencies, i think.
Maybe he doesn't know what he really wants and doesn't know how to express what he really wants either.

I spoke once with a very successful online marketer and he said one thing that I still remember ('cause I used to do same mistake as you do now)

ONE NEW THING AT A YEAR

Here is the example: I was selling a product through my shopping cart online. I came up with a very innovative way that supposed to make me 3 steps ahead of my competitors. At the same time I decided to add more new products to my catalog and to set up an affiliate program. As a result I didn't have enough time and money to promote any of these things. But! One of my competitors was smart enough to steal the idea (not the design!), set up a landing page and concentrated solely on one thing. So, the idea is to work on one project a a time unless you have a team that will be able to work on other tasks.

How about this, instead of wasting your money develop a site and stick with it. Invest, build and grow and create goals over time so you don't get bored doing the same thing all the time :p

I suffer from this type of syndrome. I have few sites and never want to improve them, instead i focus on starting a new site or business.

You should focus on one project at a time and put all your time into one project so its the best you can do

I think you suffer from the probelm a lot of marketers suffer from.

Make a list of all of your started but unfinished projects. Decide what needs doing on each then one by one complete each project focussing only on that until it is done. Then move on to the next one.

If you get any new ideas then add them to your list but at the bottom. Do not start anything new until everything on that list is completed. New stuff always goes at the bottom. No exceptions do you hear me? No exceptions.

    Quit being a butterfly.

I have dealt with similar issues in the past, and seem to be improving with age. One thing I haven't heard mentioned is the Fear of Success. This is a tough one for many people to understand or believe about themselves. But it is true of most people in my experience. If you really get to know someone, they often have really big dreams that they have buried. They choose security and safety over doing whatever it might take to achieve their big dreams. Most people fear change, and feel uncomfortable changing their circumstances beyond a certain point. The sad truth is that while almost everyone 'says' they want to be rich, the vast majority do not. You might want to do some deep reflecting on yourself and decide what you want out of life. Diligence is a prerequisite for success. To know this and continue on your path is to consciously choose failure. Many people do this unconsciously.

Yes you're the only one having those problem.
You should consider put all of your focus to one project under any given time.
You only start new project after the first project is successful.
That the way to be a efficient webmaster

before going to the next project, be sure to talk to a lot of people first. seek advices. talk about your old projects. avoid making decisions in haste. learn to calculate the amount of money and effort you invest in a new project compared to the old ones. and practise the rule of conservatism in accounting principles.
