Turkey (Turkiye) - the gateway top Asia (for us Europeans anyway) - land of many untouched historical sites, baclava, kebab, Attaturk, secular state, popular location for holiday homes. My Turkish friend tells me Turkey is a land of really varied landscapes too... what's the place with all the pointy rock formations?

Turkish coffee is very popular. It is obtained in sade (plain), orta (with some sugar) or sekerli (very sweet) and it is brewed with the specified amount of sugar mixed in with the coffee granules. It is served in small cups.

The capital of Turkey is Istanbul. it was called Constantinople in the earlier days.it is in the Asia side of Turkey, though the Turks would like to call themselves Europeans, for reasons known only to them.
