I'm using article submissions to build my backlinks up, 2 anchor texts in bio only. However, I have been monitoring it and the backlinks seem to be reducing? Submitted 5 articles on Thursday, checked Friday ok, showing up 129 backlinks, checked today (2 days later) and only 81 backlinks in Google? Surely, this isn't right? What's happening, can anyone tell me?
If you are submitting the same articles over and over again, you will get penalized. Search Engines don't like duplicate content. Your Article's need to be unique!! J
You are some wrong. I can't believe that if you give backlinks with unique artilces in articles and not getting backlinks its not possible. Yes its true if you submit same article in all article website then it will create a problem so this is not the case with you. Check you backlinks in yahoo site explorer
Maybe your not giving it enough time for the articles to get indexed in Google before checking your backlinks.
Keep going with it, as your'e submitting original articles, it will definately pay off in the longer term.
how are you checking ur links? the link: command ? via good webmaster central or yahoo site explorer? First the number of links is not important at all so 81 or 130, not a big deal; you should focus on getting quality links not a big quantity of links, anyway, back to your question, i'll guess you are using the title of your articles in google to check the number of "results" for those titles not the links, from this perspective what you saw friday was the number of times your title was mentioned in different pages from different websites. Now, in articles directories when you just submit to them, your "title" appear in the article page but also in the "new articles" or "latest articles" sections, so after a day or two your article obviously will stop appearing in those "latest articles" pages, that's probably why you see less results in google now. good luck.
Well, you should be checking links in Yahoo. Google never gives you an accurate indication of what your backlinks are (neither does Yahoo but the show you a lot more! The bigger more useful question is what has the articles done for your traffic and sales? Who cares how many backlinks you are allowed to see if your article marketing has had a positive result on traffic? The backlink number will always fluctuate so look at the trend over a longer span of time. Checking every couple of days is a sure way to drive your self crazy, LOL. Use that time to do more link building and look at your traffid stats and sales as proof positive.
