Name The Worst Profitable Niches as a Webmaster

agree. Learned that the hard way after making 3 sports sites (2 baseball blogs and one sports collectibles site). There is only a few that make it big and there isn't enough room for everyone, so your left with barely even breadcrumbs.

 

There is no 'worst' niche, yes they can be over saturated and a lot of competition but there will always be people making money off of it. You just need to make your site better than the next guy.

 

You are totally wrong. You don't have a concept of supply and demand or competition. I have about 20 different sites, all fully developed and SEOd and Im telling you there is a HUGE difference between different niches. Some niches are a breeze to get traffic in and make money in and some are just not worth even attempting.

 

I would second the programming niche. But I disagree with sports being bad. I make some of my best money each month off my network of sports sites.

 

Well maybe CERTAIn NICHE sports sites might be ok, but considering my 2 baseball blogs and sports collectibles site are my worst performers, id say as a general rule of thumb to avoid them.

Well, any niche can be bad if you are just starting out and not sure what you are doing. Then I suppose that once you develop a technique that works you can use it in most niches. There will be some niches that require specials techniques but for the most part everything works the same online.

I find some of the health niches a very tough nut to crack such as acne(done to death), weight loss (oh my), fat loss (no chance)

Mentioned already in this thread...adult can be a difficult niche for new webmasters. Their is still money to be made if the webmaster is smart and studies hard.

Unfortunately many fail because they have no idea of the basics.

 

And right now, I have a website I just began running for Photoshop tutorials a hugely over saturated niche, and after a few days of work I am receiving 100 uniques a day and slowly but surely climbing the ladder.

Of course there is a huge difference in niches, but all of them are profitable in some way or another of else there wouldn't be any around.

 

yeah but who wants to spend an equal amount of time when there is such a wide variety of traffic depending on the niche. Its about working SMART not hard.

 

The worst niches to get into are those that advertisers won't profit from by advertising.

 

I have a niche for the Adult scene. Search "porn producer" I'm the cartoon at the top. We've had the same basic daily traffic since day one, but there is nothing I can really do to improve it. I just finished redoing the site in wordpress so we'll see if that picks things up.

When researching niches I noticed that the word "thong" gets searched over 8 000 000 times a day and only has 1 000 000 sites using it...but I don't think any of those sites are selling thongs...lol

pets are hard, but there are lots of products to sell and lots of people looking to buy.

 

Yeah. Pets niche is not bad, especially if you actually have some pets and know/understand the pet owner wants and needs.

 

I think that getting into image hosting nichie or proxy website is a bad idea...seems like every webmaster wants to have one. Image hosting sites you wont make any money and you are just wasting time, you either go big or you go broke on hosting costs. Many people create proxy sites. There are only 100000000000000 of them out there and none really make any good money.

 

I think your right. Image hosting would require tons of bandwith and seems like few could make it profitable. Proxies are a huge legal issue and they are so easy to make and require tons of bandwith, so also agree they are saturated and not worth it.

 

Anything Asian pays very little even though the click through is high :-(
