    Master G,

Can you give a little more info? I can help answer some of your questions. Do you have a list of opt-in email addresses? How did you get the list? Do you have a mailing platform?

Is the opt in targeted? If you have a variety of products how do you know which one they are interested in? Do you put buyers into separate email lists and then try and sell them complementary products. There is many ways you can go about doing this. It's probably easier to target people who have already brought your products rather than just creating a generic email list to spam people with.

You'll want to avoid running spiders to harvest email addresses as automated email capture like spiders go against CAN-SPAM laws and you could end up in some trouble with the government.

Below are the most effective ways to perform email marketing for an ecommerce site (which i believe you said you run):

    1. Keep the email sign up form on all pages (ideally in a sidebar or under a left nav, etc). Capture the addresses with a timestamp into a database.

    2. When customers make a purchase, add email address as one of the required fields and add an opt-in check box. With a statement like "Check here to receive email offers from us."

    3. Make sure you carry a privacy policy on your site that states that you will not resell the data and also outlines an opt-out process. (and follow the policy)

    4. Load the email addresses into an email delivery system such as Vertical Response (verticalresponse.com). There are tons of others out there, but I've used this one a lot and it has a lot of features built in. There are no monthly fees and you only pay per emails sent.

    5. Send regular emails with discounts/specials or something else of value or you will get a lot of opt-outs and you won't get many responses.

    6. Make sure you manage the opt-out process in a timely manner. Opt-out processing is required by CAN-SPAM for commercial emails and you have a limited time to remove the email from you list (I beleive it is 10 days or something similar).

    7. Include Forward To A Friend links in the emails. Not going to be a huge amount here, but it only takes a minute and one order would make it worth it.

    8. To ensure you are keeping your customers happy and your maximizing your profits, test and measure your email marketing efforts. Test different offers, designs and subject lines. And keep testing and measuring.

    9. Stay away from image only email designs as most email programs block images from the onset, so a mix of images and text is best. Otherwise, the recipient may not even see your msg.

I'm sure i'm missing a couple of good pointers, but this is what comes to mind initially.

Thanks jmah08. You long information helpful and I appreciate. My point is I just have website and I get some promotion from my product and I just want customer notice with the new offer. Yes I agree to use subscribe form more than harvest huge email from internet but do you have other way to get huge of email faster than input form?

I would focus on building an email list and using some type of auto responder to blast out offers and deals you have going on at your website.

To build a good list thought you need to target your market, and not just get any random person to opt in. I would put your email forum on every page of your site where people will be able to see it. Maybe even after they buy a product from you have them join your list before they complete check out (just and idea).

Quickest ways to get a huge email list are to either purchase one from a broker or partner with another organization that has a list available. A third option would be to buy ad space on newsletters, etc. that would reach your target audience.

Other than that, your best bet is to continue to build your email list through your site or other customer interactions. This is going to be your most profitable list anyway.

This depends if your server that you use to send emails is or not in a blacklist.
If only Outlook makes this problems check if you don't have a antivirus installed on your PC that interact with Outlook. Thunderbird has a great spam filter that you can teach what's wrong and what is ok, but Outlook needs an interaction with an external Antivirus.

If by "spider email" you mean harvesting email addresses from other sites... you're about to become a spammer.

If you actually want to stay in business, don't do it.

Build your own targeted lists with responsible advertising and lead management.
