    Oh, I don't know.

The economy doesn't seem that bad to me. At least not the parts that aren't crippled by greed, namely housing and gas.

Unemployment is at 5.7% Not so bad.
    Our GDP is up.
Stock market is reactionary to oil, housing and the auto industry.

There are a lot of places we could cut spending to be sure, but I don't see the crisis.

I am not a huge McCain fan but I am voting for him due to his decent views and the fact that Obama is one of the most liberal senators we have. I have yet to see one good thing come from him or to hear one good thing from him. His speeches are nothing but hope and change and he never gets down to the issues. Most Obama supporters know nothing about him which is disheartening.

When you way all options, alternatives, what are you left with? If you decide to participate in the voting process, you will be voting for the candidate you feel is the best person based on your values, opinions etc. Most importantly, the next president will nominate the next Supreme Court Justices and right now this country need justices who will uphold our Federal Constitution.

That is one good reason to pick a candidate that will choose judges that uphold the Constitution instead of legislate from the bench.

Excellent. That is another reason I can add McCain to my list. Obama would appoint more worthless judges like most of them that we have now.

I will be voting for McCain because I want a president who realizes the difference between leadership and popularity. Tough times require tough experienced leaders. Leaders who will not bow to popular opinion.

After all we are a democratic republic not a democracy. That means we elect the person(s) we believe most likely to do the job and then they do it.

The economy always cycles and no particular person or party is to blame for the current down turn. Study a little history and you will see the light.

An excellent list to be sure. McCain was not my first choice. I've learned a lot about him that I did not previously know over the past few months. I was not involved in politics prior to 9/11 (there was a wakeup call that woke a lot of Americans up).

To your excellent list, I would like to add:

    11. He's been serving our country since he was seventeen years old. This man has given everything for his country and puts his country first. "I'd rather lose an election than lose a war." Very admirable.

    12. His sons are serving our country as well. That speaks to the kind of values McCain and his family stand for. They don't just talk about it, they do it.

    13. Palin's son is serving as well. Very admirable.

    14. Palin is a power house, as she demonstrated last night. While Obama and Biden and the MSM had been relentlessly attacking her and her family, doing everything in the power to preserve "their" candidate, she fired back and put them in their place.

    15. I'm honored that the Republican party will be the first party to elect a female Vice President.

Every one of us, has a choice this November. To vote who we believe will do the best job for "our" country. Liberal, democrat, conservative, republican, libertarian, independent. We all have an obligation to do "our" part to elect the persons/party we believe have the most experience and the best leadership qualities to lead our county into the future.

There are some selfish people, who are upset that their preferred candidate didn't make it, and have eluded to the idea that they will write their candidate in. I find that incredibly selfish and self-centered. They may have the "right" to do so, but "we" should all be looking to put "our" country first, before "our" own selfish interests. I hope those that may be considering doing this will rethink their position. "We" are a country. "We" have two choices and "we" should all be doing "our" part to make this a great country, putting "our" country first, before "our" own self interests.

he can and he did please reasearch the contract he approved for companies. I mean if i told you here take this box across the contry to another state and for every dollar you spend ill give you $1.50 and you know what theres no limit, mmmmmm i bet you would stay in the nicest hotels eat lobster every night and you know what drive like 20 miles per hour to maximize profits, read my thread starter.... Bush doing this caused the USA to take out more and more loans, eventually leading to the dollar weakewning, i mean if you owe a ton of money all of a sudden.... your not gonna be wortha s much...

Eh? I can't imagine anyone that actually knows McCain, saying that! McCain has a long history of doing exactly the opposite of "going with the flow."

He went against his party on the surge in Iraq. Hell, I was pissed at him myself over it, but ultimately, he proved his experience was worthy because (as Obama finally, after all these months and I'm sure at great anguish) admitted the Surge was successful past our wildest dreams.

McCain got it right, Obama got it wrong. McCain took BIG heat over it at the time too. He said "I'd rather lose an election than lose a war." That, "my friends," is what putting country first is all about. He put our troops first, put his political career on the line, and in the end, he was right.

Would have to disagree. He has an immigration stance that is far from 'going with the flow' he also has done some other things such as campaign finance reform and others. He has gone to vote for stances of Bush and take stances with Bush I certainly would wished he hadn't, he however does not 'always go with the flow'
    I don't
I don't know how many pennies I have. I have to admit him not knowing how many homes he owns is pretty bad. I could see if these were investment properties own by a management company, or something similar 'for not knowing'

Most politicians do not know what 'hunger is' besides for power and wealth, or any problems of the average/poor American.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this time without any swearing. ;)

McCain is an utterly insane disease riddled man that will ruin the USA if he somehow manages to get voted in.

I'm seriously no big fan of Obama but I would be seriously amazed if this senile old man beats him.

He also says "my friends" far too many times too.

extactly only because most come from rich families and there family gots connections. Bottom line obama is the perfect example of the American Dream. I grew up filthy poor, now i almost got my physic's degree.... all my bro's and sisters are making over $100,000 a year.... and that hasnt changed them one bit, only because we all know where we came from, mccain has no clue about most Americans needs, he thinks were okay... we are whiners... im sorry that made me angry, Obama he know our problems, he experienced most of them 1st hand..... and as for eariler posts about him being Muslim who cares if he is or not, gov. is not religon, and any president, christian musliem jewish or otherwise must keep that separate from their job.

Ah, but we don't elect the kind of people you support in America :p

As far as his homes go, his wife owns the homes, a I recall. I don't know how many fingernail files my wife owns, and I hope no one ever asks me! That was utter campaign trail sillyness. Not unexpected in these times though. The media was doing their job to stump him on something and they managed a "gotcha."

GTech rarely really has anything rational to say. You are what I would classify as dogmatic. Already have your opinion, never really open minded or ready accept anything new. At the sound of a different opinion you jump out of your seat to fully reject it in anyway.

Not in a way that shows rational strength either but by dismissing peoples conclusions even when they are supported by really strong reasoning or premises.

You reject anything thing or anyone that has any associations that you don't like. The world is not as simple as a black or white piece of paper as you would like to imagine it.

As with the election, I really would not be surprised if Maccain wins. People don't vote rationally anyways. They vote for the person with the greatest rhetorical and literal merit which essentially has really little to nothing to do with what really matters.

Next up will be your WMD post right? :D

I still support Iran wholeheartedly from an unnecessary attack and will always continue to do so.

let's try and stay on subject eh GTech? You only brought that one up because it is in your notepad and you haven't used it for a while have you because I rarely post on DP anymore. :)

That's rather harsh, Gomer. We've hardly had time to get to know each other :p

I'm accustomed to taking heat from angry liberals. I don't change my positions, like some, based upon what's popular consensus. I have no problem standing up for what I believe in or speaking my mind. I'm not here, like some, to win a popularity contest ;)

AGS, if you are ashamed of who you support and what stand for, stop letting the world know on a public forum.

Actually McCain is known for not going with the flow and he marches to a beat of different drum. Is race the reason you do not McCain? I think being a POW he also knows what hardship is. He went through more hardship imprisoned than most people could endure. It's fine that you will not cast a vote for the American hero but you should show him respect.
