My data files and installation files are in hard disk # 1 and was backed up to hard disk #2

Then when I fresh install xp with hard disk 1 it was okay.. but i cannot find the hard disk #2

I checked in the disk management console.. it says 130/150 gb unallocated.. f**ck! it's 250 GB ... what happened to my back up disk?? I right click it and windows says it is working properly...

    What went wrong??

For all of you geeks out there..I really need your help..that data files and installation files are so important all my projects, documents, excel files, and installation softwares are in there...

I dont know what to do....

To be clear you have a complete second drive in your computer?

What happens when you go to start/my computer ? Do you see it listed on that page? If not the drive isn't installed properly or isn't being recognized. Don't worry just yet.

If you're simply refering to partitions let me know.

    Thanks kurg..

I have 2nd hard disk... I backed up all my data files to this hard disk ...

Yes, I checked it says its working properly.. I even checked in the device manager or system manager i think.. and its good.. xp can see it....

that 2nd hard disk has no partitions.... just folders of my back up data..

I can re-format and partition my 2nd hard disk ... my worry is that all my data files are in that hard disk..how to recover that

If you've just reinstalled XP, you might need to update your SATA drivers (assuming it's a SATA drive).
