Not a chance. Firefox is the best IE alternative, and it doesnt hold a viable share against IE yet.

    MS controls the world. [IMG]

IE8 does look amazing though and actually renders css properly, so MS is doing something right.

google is causing me problems when I use orkut/gmail in FF.

its not displaying like it used to do and google give a small error box
saying that I should use a supported browser for better experience.

I never thought google would go to such low heights to promote their browser

Are you so easily lead around that they can do this to you?
Says the guy who has IE forced upon him on his Windows PC.
IE8, right now, is still 10 years behind all other web browsers in standards support, including Chrome which is not even released yet, because Chrome is based on WebKit's bleeding edge standards support of CSS3, XHTML, SVG, proper javascript and DOM support and all things good.

My first though...no, IE and FireFox will be just fine. My second thought...Google does have a way of killing the competition.

It's really impossible to say at this early on in the development. Sure, it's 100x times better than the first releases of Firefox and IE...

I have downloaded Chrome Beta Version and it looks more stable then any version of IE or Firefox.
I'm enjoying the Chrome Browsing experience its simplicity its ease of use. That's what is Google known for.
    My Thumbs UP For Google.

Chrome certainly makes Opera and IE useless. I think its only competition is with Firefox, with its addons. If Chrome got addons.. :)
