I saw a website offering the following: "3 to 5 business days later, your website will appear in at least Top 3 (and in some cases first) position on EACH of the major search engines in the syndicated networks (on Google Adwords you'll be First Page)". Do they also have the San Francisco bridge for sale too?......I'm a little scared to ask but,......how can this be possible? If it's not, how can they still be in business offering such a guarentee? I guess I need to take a big bite out of my Gullible Sandwich!
They stay in business because they do not say anything about WHICH keywords will get that ranking. Usually they are really obscure words or phrases. Technically, yes they have honored the contract. These type of companies hope to lure in the newbies that are too daunted by SEO to try their own hand at it first.
If you read the ad, it is first place in Adwords (Pay Per Click) not the SERPs. I can do the same, if you want to pay $100US per click for a week or so. But you would have to pay Google first...
