Now-a-day, I've seen lots of time a database errors on the forum. Every server have limited capacity to create a new connection to database. Also, this types of post has no real value and increasing database connections and size. So, they're making new rules here to get relief from this kinds of database errors. Few days before, DP'd lost their one week database.

As I know, DP is using MSSql database which is very high cost. So, DP also needs to save their database instead of loading lots of unnecessary posts. DP can allow us to post anything if they use MySql. But MySql is not so faster than MSSql. We all are surfing the forum without having any problem. It's loading very fast because of MSSql.

I think, all the rules that DP makes only for us so that we can use the forum all the day and night without facing any database errors, downtimes or overloading etc. reasons.

It is better to loose those visitors because most of them are just spammers.

I would not say that most are spammers. But it is better to have lesser "I have PM you", "You have PM me" and such kind of posts which does not add anything to the sum of human intelligence and is just frustrating wading through pages of PM You type of posts.

Lesser posts no doubt but more quality posts will attract visitors back.

With the amount of content one gets here....I thought it had to be other way round.

DP must be surely gaining in its reach and popularity.

Every person I quoted above from this thread is currently banned.

I think it's hilarious how many of them posted in support of the new rules and were then banned.

No one is banned because they are for or against us. Most are banned because of the 7 day rule or an accumulation of 10 infraction points. For the serious cases such as multiple accounts, they are banned for life.

For a forum as large as ours, we need some form of control to ensure that the forum does not degenerate into a free for all. The strict rules are necessary and we have been trying to implement it across the board in a fair manner. If anyone do see any violations, do use the report button. I thank you.
