I wrote over 150 good quality articles the last few months to gain backlinks for my real estate blog, and I found out that mostly all Article websites out there are CRAP

    Here is my review:

    GOOD ARTICLE SITES:

    1) Ezinearticles

    - This is by far the best Article site. It takes a while sometimes to get approved, but its well worth it once its approved. Also, it has given my blog some traffic.

    2) Goarticles

    - I'd put this #2.... But be careful of this one... I put up around 30 articles on this site over the months.... then I notice none are coming up on my backlink checker. I go log into my Goarticles account.... and all of my articles have been deleted. I emailed them to find out why, turns out all were under 250 words. Heck, it was so easy to post articles on this site since they go live a minute later... I was posting 3 sentence articles. All have been deleted. If you post on this one, make sure its 250+ words.

    BAD ATICLE SITES:

    1) Articlesbase.com - BAD BAD BAD.... WATCH OUT FOR THIS ONE..... ANCHOR LINKS ARE NO-FOLLOW.... it says it in its guidelines, but who would have known....... I posted over 20 articles on this damn site, all for nothing (yeah i know it can give you traffic, but I could have put this on dofollow sites)

    2) ArticlesFactory.... I want to post on this damn site, but they make you put a photo of yourself on there to post.... when I tried uploading a photo, it said it was too big and will delay my approval of signing up... I played around with the photo, still got this message......... in other words: THIS SITE SUCKS, AND I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

    3) Articledashboard... not sure what the hell is going on with them, but I have 10 articles on there, and NONE are showing up as backlinks.... They have nofollow tags all over their coding, and Im not sure, this might be no-follow too...... 2 THUMBS DOWN

    4) Isnare: 2 THUMBS DOWN.... they make you pay for anchor links... bastards

If you guys know any other good article sites that you've used --- post them on here

Also, any other good / bad reviews of these sites post them on here as well!!

I would say that Ezine Articles are the best. I have tried lots (and I do mean lots) of article directories and I never see them in my stats for traffic, but I do get a lot of visitors from EA

ezinearticles.com is the best. If you watch its ads, you can see ezinearticles is a partner.
articlesbase will include your links with nofollow :D so it is dam.

I like goarticles.com, ezinearticles was to complicated a wayback when I tried to submit so I avoid them.

My article directory is not a top articles directory as i can not compete with this big guys, but as far as it is not spam everyting is approved and links are seo friendly, so please submit.

PR4 article directory www.theegarage.com zero pending articles

While I can't say for certain that this is a good site as I've just started to use them - but I have seen their links appearing when researching competitor sites:
    ontopicarticles.com

And a new one that is on my list to checkout is
www.wordcat.co.uk/articles - which is a free, easy submission site that uses Wordpress

Thanks for the useful thread -

ezinearticles is by far the best but to gain maximum backlink exposure you must use a lot of not so good directories.

hmm weird, I get more traffic from articlesbase than ezinearticles, most of the time it's way easier for me to get on first page of SE with articlesbase article than with ezinearticles, i don't know why.

Personally I think everyone should take what the OP has said with a grain of salt. Test it out YOURSELF first!
And it's kind of dumb not to post your articles on a certain directory just because it's nofollow, you still get traffic and I would think that's the most important thing.

I agree ezinearticles is the way to go to submit ur articles. For me, i manually submit to ezinearticles & isnare & used articlemarketer distribution service. About 60% of my traffic are from ezinearticles & rest from SE. However, isnare is getting s-l-o-w in their approval recently. Anybody experienced this ? Few days ago, i recv their mail informing me that my article was approved which i submitted 1 year ago!

ezine is the best in my opinion, but buzzle.com is good as well. You get accepted instantly at buzzle.

I don't articles is the best strategy for obtaining links, but you can get some targeted traffic.

Um, ezine is the best for a lot of reasons, mainly traffic. Then again, if you are grubbing links from just the top 4 sites, you aren't really getting the most bang for your buck.
