I am trying to rank some new pages for my website. I have considered writing a press release and a few articles with keywords. I am wondering if this method will be useful for getting traffic and rankings. Any opinions and/or specific suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Yes, they are useful for getting traffic and for increase your SE rankings. Once your article/press release is approved and republished by other sites that are collecting informative and related content to their sites, it can generate natural backlinks for your site as well as providing your site with good traffic.
Definitely, it has lot of impact on your rankings. They give you permanent backlinks and quality traffic.
Yes, it will have an impact on both SE rankings and traffic. Only, don't do too much of free press releases because you might as well waste too much time and get minor results. Read this: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=748873&p=7595071 Many PR sites do delete the free press releases after certain time, that's why it is better to concentrate on submitting articles instead.
every to the point and relevant addition and renewal is making your site relevant is making your position better
Yes Press release do show an impact on your sites.. you get link back and and much much more traffic..
Thanks for the replies everyone. I really appreciate the feedback. I have a merchant account services company ( we provide credit card processing for retail, e-commerce, and mail order/telephone order businesses, as well as merchant cash advance and POS systems). These areas are tremendously competitive in the search engines and the keywords are outrageously expensive so I am looking for any advantage I can get to drive rankings and traffic. I will take everyones advice and start a program of articles and press releases and see what happens over the next several months.
Definitely, PR releases and articles not only help you gain some valuable links but also help in driving relevant traffic to your website.
They are a great tool for generating quality traffic and link backs as well as raising your overall profile. Try not to use the same sites for all of the press releases and articles as variety also helps!
If you can get a "DoFollow" link that will not be "Archived" (i.e. moved), then they will help. There is a lot of work being done in the Article and Press Release area that doesn't help SEO. We stopped doing them for this reason: The link must be permenant for it to count.
Content syndication is a important part of off page optimization and needs to be carried out effectively to garner good results. Article submissions and Press releases form a crucial part of content syndication and cannot be ignored.
Again... thanks to everyone for the replies - catanich - do you know which site are dofollow and how do you keep the links from being archived. I assume you are talking about the press release submission sites, right?
Hi, "yes" press releases and articles can help you improve your search engine rankings and generate traffic for your website. However, the main manner in which the articles and press releases help is by generating backlinks to your website. The number of backlinks generated will depend mainly on the quality of the press releases or articles because people tend to backlink more to news or content that is interesting and/or useful. So make sure that you provide information that people will want to backlink to for later reference. Thanks, Eric
