Hi everyone. I built this site for free for a family member: http://www.winafloridadreamhome.com. What would you have charged after building this site? Thanks.
I'd shorten the "take the tour" and "about the raffle" bits on top, as they spill over in my browser. It's nicely layed out though, and I like the floor plans...
The site looks good...the only thing lacking is to have a background design where white space shows up..once thats is covered its really an awesome site.. I would charge anything from $200-$300 assuming no traffic and revenue...
Hi Dabro, The site looks pretty nice. On my computer (15" widescreen laptop) the widths are off. The top banner is centered nicely, but there is a white line box that extends around it to the edges of the page. I'd get rid of that white line. Then the main body part seems like its left justified instead of centered. There is a large area to the right of the "Enter to win the beautiful home" text area, that's just blank. Then the bottom section goes back to taking up the entire width of the screen. I think the whole site should either be centered or spread the whole width, but not back and forth. All the graphics and grammar are nicely done.
The alignment's off on mine too. Header image and title are centered but the nav buttons are to the left and the rest of the body of the site is left justified with a couple inches of space off to the right. The bottom has about a 1/2 gap of blue before the box starts so it looks disjointed and separated from the rest of the site because it's wider and runs to both sides of the screen. The bottom image is centered and there's a dotted white line extending from either side. On sub pages the header and footer are both centered with the body being left justified. On the Take the tour page (which is called tour the home on the page) the images in the flash seem stretched and a bit warped. I found the blue on blue text a bit hard to read and also a bit small - I had to really struggle to read them. Is the text on the about page bold? I find bold harder to read. On the plus side, the colors are nice and the pictures colorful. Good effort and I think with a bit of tweaking you'll have a great site. Good luck. PS: I can send you screen shots of what it looks like on mine if you like.
Thanks guys for your input... So any other opinions on what I could charge to build a site like this?
Hey Dabro, Alright here goes, you have done a good job on the website. How much you can charge is totally dependent on how much money is the person who's going to get the website 1. Able to spend 2. Willing to spend. In my personal opinion i would not hesitate to pay anywhere from $150 to $200 maybe $250. Cheers, Sher.Khalsa
The site is good, however it looks disjointed because of the advert for "3 Fabulous prizes . I would suggest: 1) using a higher quality pic for the header. 2) Add a fav icon 3) Add a site map 4) Add logo 5) Change the copyright from 2008 to 2009 (Happy New Year!) Best of luck with the site! Kind Regards
