What is the difference between money and wealth?

I will thank everyone and anyone who can post a difference between money and wealth. It can be funny, ironic etc. but it has to be a real, honest difference. No problem borrowing a quote or idea from someone else, but each difference can only be used once.

    I'll get us started,

Money is just an object, wealth can be found in many things, ideas, relationships, family, and yes even possessions.

Money is dynamic - a means of relationship between two things, to effect an economic exchange; wealth is static, a measure of accumulation.

You work hard to earn money and be wealthy someday.

Wealth is as old as human history, money is a comparatively recent invention.

Money is physical, wealth deals with personal aspect

Money is what can be spent, A tangible currency, wealth is the total sum of the money you have to spend plus the value of all your possessions.

Money is what you can spend...the currency notes
Wealth is both the tangible and intangible..your parents, your bro/sis, your kids, you house, your bank balance etc etc are your wealth.

Money is a subset of Wealth.

You can't have one without the other.

To be wealthy, you need to have money.

To have money, you need to be wealthy.

There are some instances where you might be considered wealthy but with no money. Like owning a multi-million house.

Wealth can be easily converted into Money by selling the thing that is making you wealthy.

You can also say they are one of the same. If you are wealthy, then you have money and if you have money, then you are wealthy.

There isn't any case where someone is wealthy and can't have money or vise-versa.

    Peace,

Wealth can apply to things other than money. While it commonly refers to someones monetary wealth, the two are not dependent in the manner you suggest. One can be wealthy with love of family. To a person who values family more than money, wealth would relate to that utility, not to their lack of money.

Personally, I think that wealth only relates to money.

What you guys are relating to is called status (power/job/family) and harmony (how happy you are).

Throughout the times, wealth has always been associated with money. Never that I heard someone who is wealthy and is without money or vise-versa.

    Peace,

True mate. The point I was trying to make was that wealth didn't just mean you had a lot of assets, which is probably often the case though.

It's a great and interesting thread.

And I want to say it publically: Guerilla and I have had some unfortunate exchanges in the past, and I contributed to the mess that was created in this neck of the woods. What has transpired over the last bit of time is really rewarding.

    Peace,

    Paul

@azizny I think wealth can be measured without money or items that have monetary value. What about having health in a time of plague or sickness. Unconditional love can also be considered wealth.
