The Code to Text Ratio represents the percentage of actual text in a web page. So having a higher code to text ratio than your competitors gives you a good start for on-site optimization. For more info just CLICK ME
I know that, but... I asked for numbers. For example, my sites are between 20-30%. Is it normal, low, high??? Does somebody else have 80%?
First Sorry, i didn't read ur Question perfectly.............. Ya 20-30% is normal ratio that's enough. I haven't seen any site with 80% text code ratio.................... If you have any doubt then check this ratio of ur competitor sites.......
The best answer is.... The least amount of code possible + all of the required information about the text subject. Code bloat is a headache but take the time to get rid of all of the stuff you don't need and you won't regret it. At the same time the amount of text is as much as is needed to fully cover the topic. When you shoot for a target the artlicle begins to feel too cheap or too bloated depending on the subject. A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself if you covered all answers to possible questions a reader might have.
I have seen no proof that a higher ratio has any affect on search engine traffic. I would ignore the ratio and go with what will make your page load faster for majority of your visitors.
