Is youtube effective for marketing?

youtube can bring tons of traffic if you make some interesting unique videos. but remember do not upload some videos w/ copyright on it because you could get sued for $$$.

I was wondering has anyone been sued for copyright infringement from using their video on Youtube? It seems to me that if you upload a video to youtube you are basically sharing the video with the world. You supply a link for it and, in most cases, even an embed code.

 

I doubt it, basically if a copyright infringement come to youtubs attention they remove the video...too many infringements they remove your account and channel...happened to a friend that was uploading clips from Boston Legal.

It actually depends on your niche. Most people on YouTube are interested in tutorials (e.g., guitar tutorials), entertainment (usually funny/viral stuff, or songs), and gossip.

If I have a website about making money online or some serious disease I wouldn't do YouTube marketing. Who goes to YouTube to search for MMO techniques or leukemia information anyway?

 

Definitely is. But you have to be able to rake in tons of views

short term benefit, less work: rebranding existing videos
long term benefit, more work: creating unique video content you produce yourself

 

I have seen many medical videos uploaded. You could copy them, re-upload, and offer some affiliate product like acne for example. Or diabetes or even fibromyalgia. All have clickbank products I think. Just make sure you put your website on the video, and a picture, or "sign" after the video that has a big arrow pointing directly at your website to the right. Make this sign lasts at least 30 seconds to a minute. Then digg, stumble, social bookmark the video and you will continue to get targeted clicks.

Youtube in my opinion is looked upon as entertainment hence a joke. So if you have a real legit and serious business, then I wouldn't waste my time with youtube.

 

No Doubt, Youtube is great way to promote blog or website but it requires little hard work for making video and if you are good in making video than its greatest way to attract more and more users to Blogs and websites.

 

Entertainment is serious business. I make easy money on the side with youtube and I am an amateur. That is why I am here; to learn more. I made $990 last 2 weeks with youtube. Not bad considering I have never made a video in my life... But I am learning more techniques even today about finding more specialized and relevant keywords for youtube videos that I REupload.

 

effective source of traffic if you have cute, high quality and valueable videos. And don't disable embed if you want your videos become viral.
