I don't think so. It doesn't really matter to G what host you use, as far as I'm aware of.

No. Although if your site is very active you might want to set up a basic page explaining the downtime or something.

Just don't get along with shared/multiple hosting and in the same IP with penalized sites.

If you have a long downtime it may cause problems with your SERP ranking. Otherwise its fine.

I switched and I dropped out for a couple days and came back. I believe it was due to down time.

I've heard of this happening to folks and it's probably due to some downtime incurred and it's just a matter of waiting it out until things normalize. You're IP is also changing which might make things slow down for a while but this is just a guess, although isn't pretty much everything when it comes to Google :D

no google will not punish your website. But during host changing, you website must not be offline for the long time. It takes sometimes 24-48 hours to change the host and in this interval your site will be offline.

Google will never punish fro changing the host. But yes, make sure the down time is the minimum when you change the host. If the down time is high, then you may lose your SERPs.

Google might not punish but they do "favour" domains that have been around for a long time, preferably on the same IP.

No, it would not mind if you change your host. But if your hosting is in a different country that may slightly affect your site's rankings.

It is not true that you can simply change your host without checking the integrity of your prospective host.

    Source: DailyBlogTips.com

I wonder why nobody is supporting the above view because it is a real issue (IP addresses of penalized sites).
